im at my first harvest and have trimmed and hung. I have read about bending the stem to see if it is ready to put in a jar. so I bent the stem today and it bent just like a plastic straw would. no snap. is that how it is supposed to feel? when I first get a break when I bend then I put it in a jar? any help would be great :)

If the outside of the bud is crispy but the stem is still moist, put the buds in the jar for a few hours. The buds will "sweat" and will no longer be crispy on the outside. Depending on how wet they are after sweating, you can leave the jar open, or put it in a paper bag for an extra day or 2, then re-jar it.
