Good quality air stones? Or is there anything better than an airstone for dwc in single 5 gallon buckets? I know there's air discs too. Are there any other options? What's my best options?

ceramic airstones they come in 4cm diameter for cheap or 8 and 10cm for more money
you need 1-2W of air pump power per gallon of water
so for 5gallon you need an air pump with 5-10W power
I have not seen anything around 10W that is not commercial

I got general hydroponics dual diaphram air pump. 320 gph. 20 liters a minute. 4 adjustable 1/4 inch valves that split off twice to power up to 16 units. Supposedly this pump is made for growing.

Not enough air.

12 lpm per plant site using large cylinder air stones, replaced every 90 days.

I do find the dual diaphragm pump not powerful enough. Only 20lpm. I use two of them per 4 buckets. With an airstone in each bucket from each pump. So in case one pump goes I have air going all the time.

This is sufficient enough DO. Might be overkill. But I like the redundancy.

(1) 20lpm pump will not do 16 units. Might get away with 4 units though.
