BEST Cheese Strain?

Hey guys. Im on the hunt for the best cheese strain I can get from a seed/breeder. I'm really looking for that old school funky cheesy smell that is very unique for cannabis. (If you know the name of the terpene that causes these aromas that would be cool to know) I just really like that funky cheese smell and want to grow some cheesy weed. Anyone have recommendations??? Thanks :blsmoke:

I've noticed most of the old cheese seeds i've grown over the years are difficult to get now. Big buddha did a release just before he died recently under the name 'big buddha family farms', there's still some of them on some banks or there's the greenhouse efforts.

That is always the question I hear a lot...

People say they grew Cheese and it was fruity and funky but not cheesey.

Excellent question OP, which Cheese lines actually smell like cheese?

I've never been a fan of cheese strains myself, but my understanding is Exodus Cheese is legendary. Try to find a real cut of this, or feminized seeds from a verifiable UK cut.

Confidential cheese from Reserva Privada was the best i've had from seed. It's discontinued now though. LA cheese from Big Buddha has my interest but i can't find much info myself. I'll be looking to some Underground Originals Ugorg#1 and Psychosister for something cheesey soon.

Grew Cheeselicious from Europa Seeds a couple of times and it brings the smell. It's a difficult grow though, not suited for outside or hotter, more humid climes.
I've gotten a freebie cheeselicious years ago from Europa but lost it. Like lots of folk saying here it's hard to find that distinctive cheese smell without it being fruity. I'll explore some of the options here but seems like from others experience it is what I would expect. Thanks

Closest I ever got to running UK cheese was cheesedog by connoisseur. Also ran Rocksters cheese (fruity and super funky) but just not cheese funk. With that being said wouldn't hesitate to run her super Terpy butt again

I grew some uk cheese in the past from clones. I ended up with a few good seeds that I still have from that harvest. It is definitely unique taste and smell and I wouldn't classify it as fruity, either.

I wish there was a smell-o-scope widget for forums so I can smell what you're describing lol. After researching I guess the terpene responsible for the cheese smell is 'Isovaleric acid'. So maybe that could help me find a good strain to run. So many options I just don't wanna waste to much time finding that cheese strain but I might end up running a few things to see. Who knows if I get a good pheno with that terpene profile I can clone and stabilize it further. Right now though I just want the smell. I could care less about the other factors. Lol

If you cant get a cut ugorg seeds or kgbeans work when its in stock is good closest you will get to it in seed anyway you could pop a couple of hundred s1s but i think it take alot as with s1s the genes segregate and you end up with a bunch of cool phenos but not anything close to the cut ime so you probably need luck as well as numbers if you go that route another option is a good blue cheese some phenos in a good line of that can be close too

terpenes like octanoic acid methyl thio butyrate ethylmethyl acetic acid hexanoic acid isovaleric acid and methyl mercaptan themselves and or in combination is where cheese smell/taste in cannabis comes from mate

Anyone hear of Super Cheese by Positronics?

Supposedly it was Cheese crossed with UK Cheese clone (exodus cheese) anyone grow this? Looks promising but I'm at work and need to research some grow journals and get some more opinions. Seeds are cheap though so it couldn't hurt to try.

Here's a tent of fem cheese testers I recently made at 5 weeks past flip. The pollen donor is reversed Stilton Cheese by 710 Seeds. The receivers were
Europa's Cheeselicious,
Hazeman's Cheese bx1,
Big Buddha Cheese, and
Kaliman's Nitro Cheese - a nitrogen hog

Susie Creamcheese made with Cheeselicious x Strawberry Starburst was a fine cross that is now sold out.IMG_6551.JPG, a reg cross

GHS cheese is meant to be a banger too. I wouldn't normally look to GHS ever but the reports were decent. True canna has a a few crosses too. I think cheese seems to go well with Kushes more than Afghanis etc imo.

There exodus is a s1 of the original plant that spawned the exo cut the brightside that much is true its a good seedline in its own right but few and far between are the plants similiar to the cheese why i said earlier in the thread you going that route you would need a large number of s1s to hunt through funnily with breeding or s1ing with cheese the cheese type taste smell etc tend to come through better with hybrids vs s1s its a funny plant to breed with i guess in this regard imo best route would be is someone tried a recombinant inbred line with it but no ones tried that yet also mr brightside did have a bx line as well as his cut thats a clone only as well as a seedline called back to the cheese i dont think bxing alone is the best route myself either
