Best height to vegetate

I'm trying to get an idea what is the best height to vegetate my plant to,I've been growing this plant from a mother seed I harvested from a Skunk plant that I had, that had turned herm. I will post pictures of her that I took of her yesterday. I live in the desert so right now is our weather to grow and I've been going back and forth from the inside lighting of about 90 watts of 6500 Kelvin spec. and 42 watts of 3500K. During vegetation I'm feeding both MG all purpose and Earth juice along with regular watering. I just potted up to her last resting place.

Peace out,

you do understand how genetics works right?

The seed you got from a hermie plant will have a higher probability of turning hermie during flowering.

My personal opinion is to veg a plant until you see either of the following
1. preflowers
2. alternating nodes

lately i have been vegging plants for around 11weeks under high power CFL's then performing some flowering LST for 3-4weeks during the stretch.

You really should choose some quality genetics.

2-4 feet depending on the strain & height of the seed. Nice looking plant looks like a sativa.
Hahahaha.. Pretty sure this guy is talking about flowering that plant indoors, but maybe I am wrong. If he follows your suggestion, he could end up with a plant hitting the ceiling.

When you flip to flowering all depends on what you are after. Your plant is going to stretch 2-3 times in height while in flower. I try to flip mine at about 12 inches tall with some LSTing and such. But if you want to grow some monsters then let it go to 2-4 feet.

Myself, I would flip that plant now. Remember, you need 12 hours of dark each day, and that is changing fast for outdoors.

It depends on the strain. Some work well to veg to only 6 inches because they are more Sativa dominant and will reach 3-4 feet by the time they are done stretching through flowering. Other plants you can veg until they are a foot in height & they will turn out fine. What strain are you working with exactly?

Hell yes, Jamie. If you're going to continue to bring her outside during flowering, and put her in the dark for her 12 hours of sleepy time every night, you should grow that girl good and big. The sun can provide enough light to create massive buds no matter how big it is. Go for the gold. The only limiting factor will be, can you get her out the door?

Her mother was a skunk pictured here where I harvested the seed and the weed and it was GOOD:weed:

What in the wide, wide world of sports is the; "height of the seed" and what relevance does it have to when to begin flowering?

He did say the seed/plant came from a skunk plant that turned hermie and most skunk varieties are predominantly sativa, so it is a cross, a sativa/indica cross and not an actual sativa.

I started to get paranoid I posted that earlier this morning after I had been up for 24 hours. Nice response, I am laughing in my chair right now. :)

Sativas I personally wouldn't go vegging past 1 foot at maximum because the plant could potentially triple in size in the 1st 4 weeks of flowering & you could have plants sprawling along your ceiling at that rate.

So often I see one of two questions, that are more or less the same thing, being asked, those being, what is the best height to veg to or how many days/weeks is it best to veg?

It is not something that is really answerable in height or number of days/weeks considering all the variables involved.

When growing inside the two basics are, it is pointless to veg a plant to a height where once it stretches in flower that it will outgrow the lighting capabilities of someone's setup leaving the lower portion of the plant in a low light/inadequate light situation and it is not at all wise to veg a plant to a height where when it stretches in flower you will run out of usable growing height.

To figure out when to begin flower a person needs to know their setups true capabilities, their actual amount of usable growing height and then have a fairly decent idea of what amount of flowering stretch will occur and then factor all that together and come up with a correct height for their system/setup at which to begin flowering.

Considering all the variables there is not only no singular answer to the question(s), there is not even a general height or days/weeks range that will be accurate in most cases let alone all cases. One might at best only be accurate for a small percentage of cases.

The correct answer to the question(s) is something each person has to figure out for themselves, for their setup, situation and conditions and should have already done so before they even popped their beans.

LMAO That is about the funniest thing I've ever heard ,and Brick thanks for stopping by with a few pearls of your wisdom I respect evrything you have to say and I also believe it is a cross with a dominant Indica side.

Brick Top please feel free to subscribe I can use your expertise on the grow I will be beginning to flower her when she reaches 17" tall because that was the size I started on my first grow before she burned up a month and a half later, man was I pissed but you live and learn. She died at 3 feet high RIP!

:leaf:Well here are a few pictures of height of plant and also preflower hairs my plant is telling me it is time because I haven't changed her lighting schedule at all shes still 24/7 for the last month and a half so after today she goes slipping into Darkness muahaha.:weed:
Peace out,
