Here is a smoking deal if you want to upgrade to CMH lights for cheap:

A 6 pack for $60 including the shipping!

They screw right into regular old pulse start magnetic 400mh ballasts.. you know.. the ones people are literally giving away free by the dozens all the time now, as they buy newer digital/LED lighting. Or newer square wave digital CMH tech, lol.

Ok, I’m undecided, I like Hlg Diablo, growers choice roi- 720, mammoth mint 8, and a few others. I’ve looked up best grow led for 5x5 because I have a 4x4 table but not in a tent so I’m thinking I’m better going for a 5x5 in case I decide to run a few buckets on the side of table. I see Samsung 301 b and h are best diodes, what about Cree ? And what’s the difference between Samsung 301 b diodes in a mars or 301 b in an Hlg is it just price? Or does Samsung sell top bin diodes to certain manufacturers? Please help me, I’ve got $800 to spend but I can save up for the Hlg if I have to. Plus’s I’m thinking in a few months maybe Diablo or scorpio n Diablo will come down. Also thoughts on the us bars? They all have us bars to add.

The Mammoth 880w is 2713 ppfd. And is $800
Uses Samsung 301h Mint White Evo Diodes, and Samsung 301b for the Blue spectrum. I believe they also use the Osram Far Red 660nm- 720nm diodes. I know Mammoth goes to 720nm.

Scorpion Diablo 720 is 2121 ppfd, and is $1300, and basically use the same diodes, and same Driver Manufacturer. Iventronics, I believe they both use. I know someone will correct me, if Im wrong.

It makes no logical sense to pay $500 more dollars for a unit that uses the same driver manufacturer, same diode manufacturer. You could buy another Mammoth 700w Mint White for $675

The 675w Mammoth is 2095 ppfd vs 2121 ppfd for the Scorpion.

880w Mammoth, is a whopping 600 ppfd more powerful, than either one of them, which, IMHO, is best for a 5 x 5.
I think the Mammoth is hard to beat, and from what Ive seen, nobody can match the PPDF to $$$$ vs Mammoth. And consider they are using the best components available.

All of these companies will absolutely have 4/20 sales btw. usually 5-15% Also check LEDgrowlightsdepot, i saved money getting my HLG light there vs directly.

Ok, mammoth mint 8 ,880 watt uses 3,456 diodes. = to 3.9 diodes per watt. Great light.
Hlg scorpion Diablo uses 3,388 diodes at 715 watt = to 4.7 diodes per watt.
I have read that the more diodes per watt the better regardless of type of diode because. You’re not pushing the diode so it’s more efficient and the last longer. Have I read wrong? Although I can see the mammoth mint 8 is more for the money so you may be making my decision a little easier!

The Mammoth has 3.1 efficiency. Thats about as good as Ive seen. Scorpion Diablo is 3.0 efficiency.
Mammoth is $800- HLG is $1300.
You could buy almost 2 of the Mammoth 680w vs 1 HLG.

Also not saying the HLG isnt a good light. Its just basically using the same components, and is $500 more expensive than the 880w. $700 more than the 680w.

Thanks for the info, you’re probably right just get more for the money with the mammoth. What kind of warranty u get with the mint8? Also I think I’ll only have to run it at 80% to cover my 4x5 foot area. Or u think I should run it at 100. %?

id recommend you get a ~$35 light meter and never rely on any charts or random advice on light distance/intensity. Even my own eyes cant be trusted sometimes and the plants will look perfect but actually need some turning or to be closer/farther and i confirm it with a quick check with the meter. Super duper handy tool.
