So Guod's math was off!!!............just joking, so their pushing these diodes hard and this Procryon 300 is pulling 365watts from the plug in that tiny fixture. I'm worried about the cooling in general.

How hot is this thing to the touch Cocco????? Notice any strange curling or twisting or mag/cal def(specs)on the leaves with that HUGE amount 660nm??? Thanks grower

To be honest the funny thing is I contacted them after they quote it as a 480watt light (and i know how led companies fudge wattage draw numbers) but i first plugged it in at a reading of 336, didnt realize the spectrum wasnt 100% on all colors because I messed around with the manual dial lol obviously didnt know what i was doing. They said 336 was way too low a reading and said on average it should draw 370 to 400!! I was thinking thats driving these diodes pretty high myself, especially in such a small unit? Then after setting up the sundial program and adjusting it correctly it read at the 366watts (which they still said was somewhat low lol!) Anyways the fan does blow some warm air out but the unit it cool to the touch. As far as plant response its healthy! I don't know what i do wrong with mh lighting as Im a fan of 1000 watters but i usually don't get the nice waxy green coat on my foliage that the procyon is giving them ( coincidence with hempy method idk) heres a pic of clones that have had a week under this light

interesting, 366 from the plug,
800-900mA for the osrams
1.2A for the crees
plus some watts for the fan and drivers
could be possible...
would be nice if you can show up a pic from above so i can see the heatsink and maybe a number how height the fins are.

would anyone like to share their top 10 (or whatever) list of LED lights/LED light manufacturer?
it's a bit confusing right now knowing which LED companies have the best products

thanx!

thx, cococola

looks better than i thought... air filter, tunneled heatsink;... real better than the old one
this cooling system allows them to drive the led near the limit. ..good or bad...mmh
but with the sundial you can drive the leds as you like.

much better cooling than the 100. cooling system looks nice and really should improve performance. the 100 gets warm but not hot. but i look at it and wonder why they didnt port the heatsink in first place.

Sorry if this question has already been answered throughout the pages of this thread... I am looking at buying a good LED unit which grows both vege and flowering. There seems to be a lot of good reviews on the Area 51 A51-240 so was considering getting one of these. Can someone with LED grow experience preferably using this same unit please advise me, if i was growing a couple of plants in a 1.0m x 1.0m average space how many of these lights i would need? and would a single one of the A51-240 units grow these plants out well? (here is the link to the unit http://shop.area51lighting.com/specials-and-clearance-/11-a51-240.html )
Help much appreciated!

Htg supply has a great lineup of LED's with a great coverage of the spectrum and at a really affordable price. Bought 4 of the 240w's and I love them, bought a 90w UFO all blue veg booster, and a 180w for veg. They're great lights, I've never had one break on me but htg is really good about replacing anything you buy from them, no china bs. Just my 2 cents

I have an Area 51 LED light, the A51-90, which pulls 170W.
I use it as a veg light in a 3'x3' tent, which is basically the same size space that you've got.
You would have more than enough light to grow some good sized buds with a single A51-240 in a space that size.

totally agree with you , you got the awesome right view. and there are also difference between the leds. i believe the VANQ integrated multichip 72wx4 high power led grow light would be the one of the most stable led grow light in the whole market.
Haahaha...i in no way are affiliated with VANQ..... :)
