Best medium from seed to harvest?

Pro-Mix or Sunshine #4 are both peat-based mixes with no starter fertilizer so there's no chance of burning. Fox Farms Happy Frog has some starter fertilizer, but not enough to burn. Any of these will work for you.

Go the direction he said ^ until third node. Than take pots worth and put it in at least a 3 gallon pot of 1/2 OF, 1/4 mild whatever, and 1/4 perlite. ORGANICS AND DRAINAGE=a lot of stankity dankity!!!

I love promix and always will! Just use that plus some perlite if you want, it always does me good if youre using organics. If not youd probably want to add a little bit of amended soil with the transplant as stated above.

I use MiracleGro Potting Mix exclusively for my dirt grows. Only drawback to MG PM is that sometimes it has wood splinters up to 2 inches long that can (and have!) killed off brand new seedlings. If a chunk gets between the seedcap and the light the s'ling can die, being unable to reach the light. So, I always hand sieve the soil when starting new s'lings into dirt. BigSteve.

I like ProMix BX with additional perlite and vermiculite, and also a generous dollop of dolomite lime.

I have seen plants grown out in MG time release fertilizer soil from seed to harvest with little problems.

Fox Farms Ocean Forrest will work until flowering for sure.

A goot potting soil with a few amendments would not need anything but water throughout. There are recipes here in the "organic" section.

Sunshine Mix #4 is made with Canadian Sphagnum peat moss, coarse perlite, and organic starter nutrient charge that contains gypsum, dolomitic limestone, and organic wetting agent

sunshine has a tendency to run a def in cal and mag ...so keep that in mind....both mediums work from seed to weed

WWHHHAATTT? Sunshine # 4 definitely has starter in it. Be careful. Some batches tested runoff at over 3500ppm .7 conversion. They use gypsum you can read the complete NPK ratio from their website. Didnt need food for over 3 weeks. Also can be quite acidic with runoff measuring 5.6-5.7. Added 1t dolomite lime per gallon to bring runoff to 6.3. ALways check runoff of never b4 used soil mixes.
