So I had to change some things around and I had a side project going in a 2x4 tent (ggt shorty) that was for shits & giggles so not overly stressing things.
I had been letting some plants veg in 7 gals (soil) but with only a 250w (CLW) and that was off to one side a bit. As you can imagine they got leggy and when I went to swap out that light to put in some older A51 LEDs I still had lying around to get my wattage up (450w'ish) I found they were way too stretchy. I decided I need to do some topping as they were quite stretched and fairly weak. (flopped over when pulled out of tent)
I've never been one to top anywhere close to flowering, but I had already flipped and we could call it maybe early 2nd week. I did have tiny buds starting to form, but I'm thinking maybe a tad past what we'd typically call pre-flower. So now I'm left with the decision on how to proceed & compensate.
The options seem to be, leave it along - let it ride. I'm in no rush so I can let them flower a tad bit longer no problem assuming they recover enough bud sites as the topping was fairly aggressive. Another choice would be to reveg them which that seems to add 2-3 weeks to recover and veg again. Then I'd need to let it go a few weeks again then flip. That seems like a very long timeline but if that's the better path I'd explore it.
So I'm well aware it's not advised, but given the situation - the deed was done. For those who've been down these roads what did you do?
