I've been finding I come back to the zig zags. Just less hassle to me. I think I tried a few of those pure hemp leafs a long while back but I didn't like them for some reason (can't remember lol)

Ill have to give the pure hemps another whirl.

What's this about these 'raw' papers? Why are they so good? I've never seen um.

RAW is a brand of papers. They are called RAW because they are certified vegan unbleached hemp paper. They burn perfect and straight and are the best way to smoke organic. Check the pic from the post of mine above.

I'm on Juicy Jay's rolls and Papers, pretty nice but after a bit they all seem to taste the same..."Rips" black slim rolls aren't that great - the best I've found on a roll is OCB...

I've got Bull Brand non-flavoured at the moment which again aren't great but hell, 3 packs of 32 for a quid from poundland I'm not gonna complain - I seem to be changing from constant flavoured papers to non-flavoured, probably a lot healthier really as I'm coughing up less crap in the morning (just finishing off some Honey flavoured JJ's which have been on my windowsil for ages and the gum on half of them has stuck to the next one...pretty sick of them now, last few weeks its been pretty much nothing but honey JJ's for me with the occaisional Absynth flavour in between for variety)

zig zag's are the easiest, really good paper
i must say i focus on structure of the joint,
how does the paper hold the yerba before smoking it?
how does it burn?
does it hold the weed nicely while smoked?
does the mouthpiece get drippy and clogged?
does it burn fast or slow while smoking? when not smoking?

personally i like rolling very good joints and hence i tend to take my time (my buddies hate it),
i like them to be perfect, slightly broader towards the tip (yeah like a cone), small filter for mouthpiece, i hate dealing with roaches.
and for this the best paper is by far OCB's

OCB's burn really good and have the best sizes available.
not for beginners though.

Of course hemp paper is always the best choice, just like I use hemp twine covered in bees wax to hit the bowl! (hippiehits.com)

But sence i didn't see them mentioned i thought i would throw out French lights as my fav run of the mill papers u can get from most gas stations. they burn way smoother than job, tops, zig zags, or jokers ... imo. less paper more weed is my mantra~

the local tobacco store says they ordered raw rolling papers so im lookin forward to tryin those. they have club ungummed squares though and they are now my favorite. i have got them things to burn 15-18 minutes and they have awesome taste and burn perfectly everytime. to get them to burn 15-18 minutes i actually have a 1 1/4 size roller and the clubs are shorter but the paper is to wide so i cut off a strip of paper then cut that strip in half and use it to close the ends. it makes it 1 1/4 size then and helps it light more evenly at the beginning because of the slightly overlapped paper. well theres a picture to show detail. their not transparent papers until you start smoking out of them. i thought that was cool. they are also fine weight papers. the gummed 1 1/4 size clubs are medium weight paper so i would stick to the regular ungummed squares if anyone is considering checkin these things out.

Does anybody in the states (or anywhere else) know OCB? It's trendy, comes in nicely designed packages, suits its purpose.

good for you sir. choosy or fussy people choose the best papers. i have never tried those but i would based on your fussy reccomendation. i am also quite fussy about my papers. my main criteria are glue quality and thinness, the thinner the better, just about see thru is perfect, and speed of burn. so rice papers are the obvious choice for me. they burn suprisingly slow (much slower than zig zag) and there is zero paper taste (not to be confused with that glass brand. those suck). however they usually have shitty glue though due to their delicate nature. it took me years to stumble upon a rice paper with the right glue. my brand is smoking black, although from what i understand they are no longer made from rice unless you get the ones made in spain. i currently have the ones made in argentina but they don't lack any of the qualities of the original. they are fucking amazing. you can see the herby goodness right thru the paper and the glue is just awesome. it's to the point where if i have to use zig zags (my original brand) i feel like i'm working with newspaper and all i can taste is paper even on a fatty. i buy these by the case online. also they have a warning tag when there are only 5 leaves left, and there are 50 leaves per pack instead of the usual 30 or so. they are difficult for beginners though due to their thinness but if you're going to bother with an ultrathin paper this would be the one to go with. trust me, i've probably tried around 12 brands or so and most suck. these are special. the black pack is classic 1 1/4 in. but they have lots of sizes and textures. they make a corn paper but i've never tried it.
this is what they look like:

i use a rolling machine with the orginal zig zags with an element filter. my stash box has all kinds of flavored papers for the times when i get stuck smoking the same herb for a few months.

And I just ran out of papers last night. I think I will head over to the store and get some juicy jays or some RAW. Haven't decided yet. Anybody feel free to sway my decision on what to get ;)

if you are going with juicy jay's make sure not to slobber on the glue or it won't stick. they write a warning on the pack but i doubt anyone reads it. i only use flavored papers for weed that doesn't taste so great, but those are very good for flavor. not crazy about the paper they use but i think i'm fussier than a lot of people. i've never used raw but everyone raves.

It has to be a Phillie Titan. They are the easiest thing for me to roll and you can trimm off so much of the paper that when you smoke a Titan rolled right all you taste is weed. And that thing burns forever.
