I have one, and you put a lil herb in there and set the temp to about 230. Hit it a coupla times and man the high is way different and the smoke is smoother. I almost always toke out of my vape, next would be the bong.

now the coil on illys is a glycerin coil, it's detachable and stores in the freezer. the glycerin (like alcohol) does not freeze at normal freezer temperatures, so the glass isn't put under any strain. it's a very efficient way to cool the smoke, and it's the only way to cool your smoke safely if you believe in the "ice is bad" philosophy.

Vaporizers work by heating the cannabis to the point where it doesn't quite burn, but the active ingredients (mostly thc, but some other chemicals as well) boil off as vapor which can then be inhaled. It doesn't produce the same high as smoking (my guess is that some cannabinoids don't get vaporized, which creates a different ratio of chemicals, but since no one has done studies with cannabis that relate to anything other than THC we can only speculate). Vaporizers are far and away the healthiest way to smoke, and I enjoy using my friend's volcano (by far the best............and most expensive) very much. The vapor from a vaporizer is either pumped into a bag from which it is inhaled or stored in a chamber and inhaled through a small pipe or tube.
