Best soil?

I haven’t found a threat regarding regular soil (not organic) yet. I’m waiting on my Green Crack seed to arrive, and I’m going to be able to invest a lot better than my current plant (first grow ever.) what do y’all suggest as far as soil goes? I know Fox Farms is a good one, but that’s the main one everyone agrees on. Is there any better soil that works better for specific strains?

I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest and perlite. I mix two parts Fox Farms Ocean Forest and one part plain perlite(no additives). I like this mix because it doesn’t stink and I’m growing inside right now.

Awesome! I’m going to definitely order that. Do I just search perlite online? Oh and another thing, so I can’t exactly afford an actual grow tent, do you have any advice? Currently all I could do is a big cardboard box with some tin foil taped to the sides. Probably really bad idea, but it’s better than the orange/brown walls in my bedroom

I buy the Perlite at the Grow Biz, I’m sure they sell it at online stores (make sure you buy plain unfertilized) I built a indoor garden with PVC pipe, Panda film and diamond Mylar. I got the PVC pipe and fittings at Home Depot, Panda film from the Grow Biz and the diamond Mylar from Amazon. It works, but I’ve had some trouble keeping it warm and humid. There are light leaks but I’m growing auto flowers right now so that isn’t a problem. It can be made light proof for photo period plants.
Before I made the PVC garden thingy I was growing in a bookshelf (without the shelves), the plants were outgrowing it so I had to make something bigger.
Honestly though I almost spent the same amount as a grow tent. They sell reasonably priced tents on Amazon if you have Amazon Prime you can find one and get free shipping (:

Fox Farms Happy Frog , I have found is better for young plants. FF Ocean Forest is better in 12/12.

So I buy both, mix it by hand. Add 2 solo cups of perlite and 1 solo cup of worm castings to a 5 gallon fabric pot. This blend is great seedling to harvest.

I like the m3 michigan mix for soil.

I'm just in coco right now, but I'm getting together a 30 gallon smart pot of m3 to do a single plant 5x5.

question, do I need to continuously add cal mag after buffering or in intervals throughout the grow?or is one buffer enough for the whole grow? ill be spouting auto flowers soon.
