Best time to start Nutes for Seedlings?

Thanks for all of your input so far! I now have another question as there has been a recent development with the seedlings. First they aren't growing any new leaves yet and are just growing taller. Is that normal?

Second, some of them are starting to droop or bend over. Is that from over watering? I attached some pics.

Thanks guys!

They are trying to stretch for the light, drop your light down a bit. A lot of us leave a little bit more of a gap in the solo cup than you did so when they start to stretch you just add more dirt to prop up the stem, no worries.

Hey Guys,

Now I am having an issue with the seedlings drooping. The leaves have drooped downward and some of the seedlings have completely folded over. Also growth has really slowed. I thought at first it might be overwatering, but I have only been spraying them a little bit each day. I have now waited a few days since my last watering just to be cautious, but they are not any better.

If anyone has any idea what it could be, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Also, is it possible it is from my light being too close? I have a 300w LED and it was about 1 foot from the top of the seedlings.

Thanks again for your help!

Easiest way is the i initial set of leaves start to turn yellow it's the plants first food once those 2 small little guys start turning then start your nutes. Don't know your feed but go light nothing crazy they respond to small amounts well gradually increase

Awesome thanks for the help.

So I tried lowering the lights and haven't watered for a few days. At this point the seedlings have pretty much stopped growing completely, and are starting to droop even further. Any thoughts on what to do?

Thank you!

Hard to tell from the burple light but i think your medium is too dry looking. I like to mist mine a couple times a day and trickle some h20 every few days. Dont soak them through though

I had it about 6 inches above the tops, and then raised it to 1.5 feet cause they were still droopy. I held off watering for a few days because i thought it might be overwatering, but it hasn't changed much since I stopped watering.

OK I see in the original post, I somehow missed that. you've got a couple problems. first is gonna be heat. Def need to keep that light at least 18 inches to 2 feet off the tops of those. when you posted that your seedlings were stretching, I didn't see that your initial height of your light. seedlings stretch like that when they're looking for light at the beginning. I just assumed you had it alot father away. I should read more thoroughly! Lol Don't know how I missed your light height. at anything under 18 inches though you're definitely drying out your soil too fast and probably causing heat stress on them. The stretching you were seeing isn't really anything to be worried about some of them stretch ridiculously long, that's why you just have to shore it up with more soil around the stem until you're ready to put them in a bigger pot

And if you're really concerned with the stretching seedling being too tall and falling over, you could use a straw or toothpick to brace it a bit

I like these clip lamps for cups and fresh sprouts. I have them here for a week or so then send them to the LED's before heading to the HID's. I can keep them right on top so it keep the leggier sprouts from toppling over before i completely fill the cups.IMG_1542.JPG

Ok awesome thanks for the response. I moved the light away and they seem to be standing back up. Growth is really slow right now, but I'm guessing that will speed up as they recover? Right?

Also, Should I have a humidity dome on them or is it ok without it?

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it!
