Been sitting on top of a set of x3 lights that were only used for one run (maybe two, foggy memory) and they were replaced with 2x 400w lights (CLW SS550).
Now I'm conteplating wtf to do with the old lights. I might hand-me-down them to my brother but was thinking if there was an upgrade path even worth looking at. I know the case. drivers & heat sinks are at least semi-legit (sure newer driver better but bigger evolution happened on LEDs themselves I'm assuming here).
Anyone know the internals and options that would be 'relatively easy' and not require a ton of modding?
Being the RW has a flowering spectrum I had considered if they'd still be good (enough) veg lights - but then I think I'd probably need to mod them and put the red diodes behind a switch perhaps and only flip those one right before moving plants to flowering (or when rooting?). Haven't checked the internals out to see how the wiring works if red was a separate channel or not where I could just put something inline and drill a hole in the case for the switch.
