Best way to setup room with plaster walls?

Yep, this can def be an issue. i remember back when you talked me into drywall and plaster, best thing advice ever. Easy to clean, fresh coat of paint and its like new again lol..

I run my room on the high side for RH....70% + ....i combat other issues from arising by having hurricane force winds in the room at all times.

No issues with condensation or pm or mould on any walls yet. Only the fkn intake fan, thats always dripping. Still havent found a remedy for that yet.

I never did either short of encapsualting the fan in spray foam lol. Thats why, when you were planning your build, I told you to make sure the intake location wasn't above anything like a light.

I've been reading here and there that high winds are a major trick to preventing problems, any recommendations on fans for the room that I should look at? I did a search here but came back with mostly smallish oscillating walmart and amazon stuff that looked meh.

I still will panda film my most thermal shock prone areas as well I'm thinking, and will need to secure the film against the additional winds. Film is on the way but the cold season may end before it gets here...

Though hopefully with the hurricane going on in there I wont ever see PM

@fragileassassin im not sure if you misinterpreted this as @bulla suggesting the OP replacing the plaster and put up drywall.. but i believe he was suggesting build a quicky frame and plywood it so that OP actually has walls that he can screw/nail/staple/tape to without the hassle of damaging the existing plaster. As someone who has restored 100+ year old homes- where wood lath and plaster is the norm- i can promise you that the small expense of lumber/materials involved in this will pay for itself 1000x over vs damaging and repairing the existing plaster.

edit: as you already suggested @fragileassassin a tent would also be an acceptable solution, i love my tents!

I didn't think he even had a room I thought he had to build a room in basement I didn't know he already had was I thought he wanted to build plaster walls and I was

Well Durban Poison is supposed to havr resistance. Honestly PM is like the borg once you get it, resistance is futile. So the key is to prevent conditions that cause it to pop up the first time. Once you get it, even low humidity and good air circulation can actually help it spread. And as that article states, systemic or not it has a way of hanging out...

quick question for the OP- Do you have a basement? i only ask because the majority of homes that were built during the time that plaster was the norm do have them, and if so i highly encourage you to set up down there! basements are the beeeskneees for growing as long as you have a way to exhaust outside. I was sooooooo close to buying a farm house built in 1873 just for the basement.. the 65 acres of land it was on wouldve been a killer bonus also but the basement was a growers dream- except the snakes lmao! sadly my 375k offer wasnt enough for the owners to budge xD
