glass jars are the best for storing marijuana.
Although I have bought weed that was in a tuna can and I had to open it with a can opener.
I don't know what strain of kush it was or how long it had been in that can, but it was some chronic smoke let me tell you..
I called it Tuna Kush.. lol

Peace

No the glass jars are air tight and as long as you dont open it the moisture stays in the jar
When you strat opening to smoke it then it starts drying out again
You can also freeze it in the jars for longer storage

be careful if it's not properly cured before you freeze it.

other than that, glass mason jars are air tight, and great for storage. Light, heat, and oxygen, in that order, are the largest contributors to THC degradation, so long term air tight jars in the freezer are best. There are commercial vacuum sealers that use CO2 replacement to remove all the oxygen without smashing the contents of the containers, these are incredibly awesome for preserving herb :)

Yeah mason jars are the way to go thats why they store pickled eggs , and all sorts of food in them ... They been around for hundreds of years so I'm pretty sure they are reliable.

2-3 months is nothing, Glass jars should be sufficient. I HIGHLY recommend you wrap your jars in foil. Light is the enemy#1, heat and air are #2 but at room temps its a ways down the list. If you were going longer I would recommend drying them till crispy and Jar, then refrigerate(freezing would be better but it concerns me with rupturing cell walls/etc so safest would be fridge, vaccume has gives me the same concern, but my fears may be unfounded and based on my experience with freezing other plant material). When you need some take out another jar, sprits them with one small spray of distilled water and let them sit for a few hours or a day in the jar they will rehydrate.

If you want to learn more about dedgradation of THC read the MJ growers handbook by mel frank/ed rosenthal they have charts that show various rates of degredation.

Also if you do anything to decarboxolize the thc it degrades faster (ie tinctures that you have heated or ediables).

what about tightvacs.......would they be good for storage of up 2 to 3 months?........and if not would a glass jar with a screw top lid that was used for tomato sauce be better?

Mason jars are the best because they have a seal that can endure constant opening/closing abuse for years, whereas the seals in most jars of various food product sold at your local grocery store aren't meant to stand the test of time. Yes, they do fine for food, but they aren't as airtight and whatever mediocre seal they have looses it's touch after you first pop the jar open.

2-3 months even a good ziploc bag will suffice in a disposable rubbermaid container will work. . With glass jars you are looking at more than a year storage...

i vacum sealed an ounce for over a year. tasted just as good as the day i put it in the bag but it was just like breaking up brick weed. for a couple of months the jars will work great.
