Best way to switch in flower?

Right now I veg with 20/4 for 3 months.
Is it better to do 20/4 - 18/6 - 16/8 - 14/10 -12/12 drop 2 hours per 5days-1week or switch to 12/12 dirrect from 20/4? And how each way affects the stretch and flowering time? Thanks

What's up Leon I can't really speak to the other examples you gave but what I do is before I send to flower I'll keep the girls in darkness for 24 hours and then run my light schedule to 12:12. My stretch usually last about three and a half weeks

I always just switch directly to 12-12 ...actually I run my flower room at 11-13 but that's just another preference

4 weeks on 24/0 then 4 weeks on 18/6 to get that stretch then flip for the last 4 weeks onto 12/12. You can fuck about and go down to 10/14 or 11/13 for the last 2 weeks but I'm flipping a small crop in 90 days everytime and mainly stick to the 3 photoperiods for simplicity.
Good luck. :eyesmoke:

On the first day of the summer solstice you need to gather a virgin lamb and a ba....wrong thread...
:p
Just flip to 12/12. No fuss.

Just switch the lights from veg cycle straight to flower cycle. Why add the complexity of a bunch of timing changes for nothing?
Because I will veg for more 20-30 days thought that way will make them stretch more.

This way sounds good too

I was at 18, then I switched to 14, and soon il switch to 12/12. During 14/10 I am trying out using far red leds only for a couple weeks. I did notice that the plants didn’t really grow when receiving only far red. So I have turned on the cobs after a week. At the end I will go to 10/14. If I were you OP I would do your plan but over a little longer than 5 days if you have time. But at the same time, people have just been slamming into 12/12 for a long time and it works...

I try to get the best out of stretch. My plants are 1.5-2 feet tall and I have 9 feet height

You switch the spectrum after the 12/12 or keep the veg spectrum for first weeks?

They have not reach 2 feet yet. I think 1 more month in veg plus the flower stretch I can hit 4feet

The veg spectrum is supposed to stay on the entire grow. However I am thinking that if I only run far red for a couple weeks it might speed up flowering. They say the far red also induces stretch, and I am seeing a little of that.

Right now I veg with 240watt 3000k qb + 600 watt 4200k CMH. For flower I have 480 watt 3000k qb + 1000 watt 3000k CMH. So keeping the veg spectrum from CMH for 2-3 first weeks would be good for stretch?

You can speed up the process by giving them a 24-36 hour dark period right off the bat. Works indoors and out. Exceptional technique if you are using reg seed and you need to know the sex. My 400 HPS usually has my girls leaves tired after 9 hours. When the leaves look tired they have had enough light for the day and are ready for their dark period.

if you have 9 feet ceiling height and the time to cut back on hours I would take the slow route. cutting back on hour. but if you don't flip them and call it a day.
