Very unprofessional. Ordered a Turbogarden from them and it came in the original packaging. What hydro store is stupid enough to do that? North Coast Hydroponics which I believe is a partner on Kalyx.com.

When I say original packaging, I mean the aero system came in the Botanicare box with a picture of the damn unit on the box. Fucking ridiculous.

Why wouldnt it? The turbogarden is made by Botanicare. I tries looking up North Coast Hydroponics but a few listings came up so I didnt know which one exactly. Do they claim that they make it themselves or something?

I think he is concerned about stealth.
The fact of the matter is if you want plain brown packaging you should probably ask. Rather than assuming and then getting pissed when it comes in the box it should come in.

Thems the breaks

I was confused for a second as well. That is a little horrible, but what is wrong with that anyhow. You aren't doing anything wrong :) we are all just gardeners it could be for tomatoes for all you know :) no one else knows your purpose

Hey NorthChief,
I placed an order with this company (north coast hydroponics) for a habitat hut which cost me about $250. It's been over two weeks and I still haven't received it. I emailed the company several times and tried to call them with the number they have listed but it's disconnected. I'm hoping I haven't been taken! If you don't mind my asking how long did it take you to receive your order from them. Much appreciated if you can get back to me. Thanks!!

I confirm this company is very unreliable. As soon as you order something the confirmation number tells you the order has been shipped with UPS but you get no tracking number. Waited 2 weeks, didn't get anything, constantly messaged them but only got vague replies. Had to cancel the order and I hope I get my money back

I agree that reliability is a huge concern when dealing with the venders, how ever, if you fail to specify that you need additional shipping considerations, like stealth, then you get what you get, period…Its not their job or duty in life to know your personal situation, further more hydro systems themselves are legal.

I learned this lesson myself, just like I seem to learn all the other lessons, the hard way…A few years ago, I ordered some lights from an excellent vender at a great price, but when those huge plane as day hydro farm boxes that were clearly marked with big pictures and huge writing were both carried (2 trips from the truck) and stacked on the front porch by the ups man, I nearly shat myself….. And yes the ups guy needed a signature as kids played in the street, and neighbors mowed their lawns and the like. You wanna talk about awkward? I was mega pissed off...But I was pissed off at myself, NOT the vender…How could I have forgotten to mention that I needed stealth?? I know if I had of mentioned it, they would have done it right for my situation, I would have even gladly paid more for the box covering, but I botched it, period…

Also, research your venders. Take the time to make sure they are reliable…Online ordering can be a dicey situation no matter who you deal with, but if you research more then just the item price, meaning the vender reputation, some times you can avoid shady service venders..

Good luck man

I hate to make this a zombie thread, but while trying to find NC hydro to make another purchase I came across this thread. I don't know how their business practices were a year ago, but they seemed to have improved from what I'm reading about on here. I made an order on monday at 6pm, and miraculously the order was here waiting for me on wednesday (damn near dropped a load when I saw how fast it got here, using USPS priority no less...). When I opened the package I was even happier to find a packet of free clonex that had been thrown in with my order. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents and balance what my stoned self saw as a very one sided attack. They may have sucked at one point, if they did they have made the necessary changes. Pce out

With all the choices out there I highly recommend another vendor. I have ordered from quite a few others and never had to wait more than a week for processing/shipping and never was shipped anything that wasn't discretely packaged (without having to ask). I've been doing this for 6 years and have never felt the need to post anything negative about a vendor. Until now that is.

I was looking for a particular Res. and most of the online stores I tried told me it was discontinued from GH. So, I was trying to find a store with a couple of them in stock. I got a hold of John at North Coast Hydro and he said the others were all incorrect and the item was simply a special order item. I did ask some more questions but he convinced me it was indeed still available. So, I ordered two along with some net pots and covers and Misc. stuff totaling about $350. (which was charged to my account immediately after I hung up the phone) After a week or so went by I called to check on my order and John:fire: told me that the Res.'s were on the way to him (LIE) but he was having trouble locating the net pot covers. :?: He said he would get that done and ship by the end of the week (WEEK 2) and call me to confirm that it shipped.
I let another week go by knowing that I'm not his only customer and he's surely working on it, maybe he shipped it already and just forgot to call. I called him on Friday (end of week 3) and asked for an update.
All he said was that the Res. WAS indeed discontinued and that he still couldn't find the net pot covers.:?: I asked him why he didn't let me know and he said that he lost my number. :wall: I told him to cancel my order and issue a credit. Then he said "Are you telling me what to do?" and I said "Well sort of, I am your customer I am not going to get what I paid for therefore I would simply like to cancel my order.
At first he said "no, I'm going to ship you the other items when they're here and was going to hang up on me.:o I asked what the charges would be, fearing elevated shipping costs since he wasn't going to ship the Res.'s which was the majority of the shipping charge? He said he would have to get back to me.:?: I told him that was not going to work, I needed resolution on this. He went silent, I thought he hung up on me.:finger: "John... John... Hello" He finally spoke up with a simple, "What". I told him point plank that I'm not comfortable doing business with him and insisted that he credit my account. He finally agreed but what a jerk; he acted like the whole thing was my fault or that I was doing something wrong to him. All I did was try to give him some business. He is the one who could not deliver.

Sorry for the long post everybody but I wanted to say a little more about this guy John and his personality. Hopefully this will save you all some grief.

I'll let you know if he actually posts the credit or if I have to cancel payment.

Peace,
Middle Finger Farms

remember unless it is huge like one of these toys r us hydro stores like htg or bghydro then it is most likely a small warehouse store where they got some room and some wide eyed kids working there. I recently went to a few to look around and wow were they almost fly by night shops. Lot of expensive demos tho to give them credit. Ebay amzingly enough has always been reliable for my gear.

I wish I would have read this post earlier. I ordered a 10 x 10 grow room from this company. After several attempts and voice messages I have yet to actually speak with any one. This company is a scam and consumers should be VERY AWARE that if you order anything from this company you will loose your money.
