i have about a half a pound of material that has been been run for bho already. i am wondering if there are any uses for this stuff. has anyone made edibles or anything else with this stuff? or do you just toss it? please share your experiences and thoughts.

A good bho run strips out all or very nearly all the resinous goodies. Your leftovers should be devoid of smell. At that point, their best use is as compost or mulch. cn

this is what i am thinking, just wondering if anyone has experimented and what their results were. i have searched all over and everyone says this (even me) but no one says that they tried anything to test this.

I have tested it but using hexanes as solvent. By the time the hexanes ran clear, all the cannabinoids were in the liquid solution by tlc (thin-layer chromatography). I took the odorless residue, boiled it briefly in acetone, concentrated (vacuum evaporator) the acetone down to black sludge, heat-treated the sludge to pop any THCA ... by tlc there was zero THC or close-running material in that sludge. First-hand experience following an experiment designed to test just that premise. cn

I ran 5 pints of 99% ISO through 1/2 lbs of bud I had already run butane through and I ended up with ~5 grams of what looks like hash oil... It doesn't taste like much and it isn't as potent as regular hash oil but it does do something. Not so sure Id do it again though. It's not like "the real stuff" and when you have the real stuff why bother.

I have found odor to be a great indicator if any value remains after a wash. cn

BHO tends to not grab the CBDs/CBNs (*theory*,) where as ISO would. So BHO then ISO, and you're left with the CBDs/CBNs and organic material in the ISO where as the BHO has all if not most of the THC.

I've seen butane extracts test at over 4% CBD...maybe it depends on the strain  I'm no expert, that's just my experience

this is what i thought. is there something different about cbn or cbd chemically compared to thc that would prevent it from being dissolved into the butane solution. if not then this theory above is no good.

I compost all the left over material. Only started doing this a few months ago when I started mixing my own soil and also using veganic nutrients. If using synthetics I would just toss it but anything organic or veganic I would definitely toss it in the compost pile if you have one. Haven't seen any benefits to it yet but its what I do. Everything can be useful when coming to this beautiful plants! Ha ha

This is only with my ice water extract...sorry for the mix up. The bho I usually just toss the remains.

CITE PLEASE

Based on actual science, these molecules have very similar molecular structure and polarities. Therefore they should be dissolved at about the same rate.

I know that THC and CBN are hydrocarbon-miscible, but am not money-certain about CBD. So I've held my tongue, uhm fingertips. cn

i posted the molecules. you can see the slight polarity difference between THC and CBD, on the middle carbon ring. this one difference does alter the polarity slightly, but not the overall polarity. all these cannabinoids dissolve in aggressive non-polar solvents like liquid tane and iso.
