U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 242,418 total last month alone. Almost a quarter million people.
.
Over a 5k mile border ?

242,418 divided by 5000? And about a third to a half will be sent back to they're country if origin...js

Meanwhile it takes 7 to 10yr before the people who got lucky and can stay to see a lawyer and or a judge....republicans don't wanna do anything about that, it will ruin they're talking point or obstructionist point....tusk tisk

No one said it was closed. There are over 10K a day trying to give themselves up to the BP.

This is what you get from wars that drag on forever, drug gangs who have more power than the official governments and climate change. It's going to keep getting worse where those folks were from, so they are going to keep coming. We will look back on this as the good ole days before it's all said and done.

Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas has been saying it's closed for years. Talk about living in denial or just lying to the American public.

The only physical threat this country faced is from Republicans who attacked our government and attempted a coup on Jan 6, 2021

Open borders my ass, the real threat comes from right wing home grown fascist traitors.

We don't face an existential threat from Mexico. Hell, illegal immigrants just want to feed their families by doing work in the US, where there are plenty of good paying jobs. Why blame them for wanting to work? Why blame them? Why not blame the people who hire them?

LOL, I get it now. This is all MAGA Republicans have. Jobs are up, manufacturing is returning, the country's economy is doing great. People simply won't vote for change when there is nothing wrong. We, the majority know this is true.

So, gnaw on that bone at the border. It's not going to help Defendant Trump win the election. Biden is following the laws of this country. If Republicans don't like the laws, then they must work with Democrats to get them changed to our mutual satisfaction. You might as well, howl at the moon. This isn't a crisis, it's a red herring.

This is ridiculous. I can't believe anyone actually wants this lawlessness.
I guess you forgot the HISTORY of our country and what it is SUPPOSE to stand for. Ellis Island ringing any bells? The great Melting pot, does that ring any bells? Give us your poor, your tired, Huddled masses yearning to be free, Mean anything to you?

Coming here for work is not a valid asylum claim. But Biden doesn't give a shit. He lets everyone in anyways.

Yawn,

You are complaining that arrests at the border are up. That doesn't make sense. Isn't Biden enforcing the law? Isn't that what you want him to do?

In any case, this is a red herring. There is no crisis at the border. The border is not "open". Witness the arrests. Biden is doing a great job and your political movement is looking mighty desperate, given that a fake issue based upon racist bias is all you have.

You dont think the pounds of fentanyl coming in daily isn't a crisis? If it isn't flat out causing ods/deaths it's keeping people on the streets due to their addictions.
If people are fleeing their country because of the Cartels like Injini suggested, isn't it only going to get worse with the Cartels gaining more money and power? Out of all the people that get in illegally, how many paid the 10k fee to the coyote do you suppose? If thats going to the Cartels, i can only imagine things will get worse and more people will want to flee according to Injini's theory.
When does the Country become oversaturated with people and will it be too late to do anything once it is?

The drug “problem” has been the same for atleast 40 years (when I brought my first load up) the only difference is it’s not brick weed anymore. Legalizing weed was the catalyst that ended that lucrative little buisness :(. The past, current, and future government will never stop it so stop trying to blame Biden, it’s getting a bit old. Suggesting a few solutions that you may have would be more helpful.

lol Another Republican War on Drugs is in the offing.

There has never been a successful program that stopped drug smuggling. It's been 45 years of Republican outcries for more police actions against drugs and blaming Democrats for them. It's especially laughable when I see it posted on this site, where many posters have served time for growing pot. If there is one place on the internet where people know the war on drugs was not really about drugs its here.

You guys don't care. Crocodiile tears.

Do you really want to stop drug smuggling? Start treating the issue for the health issue that is really is. Decriminalize the use of all drugs and put the money that would be wasted on law enforcement and into drug treatment. But this isn't really about drug abuse/overdoses or smuggling, is it?

The Fentanyl problem is unlike any other drug crisis the US has seen. It's killed more people than the 80s crack epidemic and is 50 times stronger than heroin. It's flooded all of America and most opiate iv addicts cant find heroin anymore and are forced to start using fent. And it's everywhere. Winter of 2022 Maine DEA made two separate drug seizures in Lewiston. The first was a measly 1 pound,a month later the second bust , SIX pounds of uncut fet. Probably enough to kill the whole state. Fall of 2023 Polk county Florida intercepted Ten pounds of fent via Cali way.
Yall can tidy me up into your Republican box, but it doesn't take away from the fact that raw ingredients are shipped from China to Mexico then cooked up into fent in jungles then smuggled into the US by the Cartels.

As I said earlier I would love to hear your suggestions on how to stem the flow? I agree that it’s a horrible situation re fentanyl.
