Big Bang and White Widow grow at 72 days flowering w/ pics

Is anyone here familiar with the Gumby method of making hash? This is the method I am going to try. There is a video of it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kbCtKE2Ghk

I'll try to snap a few pics while I'm at it for all you guys as well. :joint:

yeah I'm very familiar with this technique! it's probably the best method I've ever seen and have been successful doing many times =)
it's supposed to give you something like a 15 % more extraction than other methods do. I'll be making some gumby hash as well in about 7-8 weeks. Also your plants are amazing looking!

I love the fact that the beauty of the plants r only matched by the amount of care that went into them. awesome job my friend =) and can't wait to see some pics of the hash in progress

Thanks, bro! +Rep for you, my friend. I'm going to be making the hash tonight and I wish I could e-mail you a nug! bongsmilie

+rep Dill for the awesome grow. I wish you could take over my grow. Would hella smoke you out if I got the chance.

+Rep right back at you, my friend. I am no expert though, as this was my first "serious" grow. I grew some sativas in my closet last year that stretched like a madman (one reached 7'5" from the soil line) and gave me all sorts of trouble and ended up only getting about 13 oz. from 12 plants. From now on I am sticking with the indicas and using my grow tent. So much easier to grow with the proper ventilation and with shorter plants! bongsmilie

gonna +rep back at u just 4 being off the hook after i +rep someone else first bc its not letting me right now. but im planning on ordering some Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 soon (sativa) so if u decide u wanna give the big trees a try again ill send u a seed so hopefully we can compare our grows. do u live near the Sac area?

No problem, bro! Regarding AUH#1, I have read that is a very hard strain to grow and that it is even more susceptible to stretching than the average sativa. However, I hear that the high is absolutely amazing so it's worth the trouble! And no, I'm not in the Sac-Town area, but appreciate the hookup either way, my man. Really looking into doing Trainwreck for the next grow and possibly more White Widow since it came out so well. That's the best thing about growing your own, the possibilities are endless! :leaf::bigjoint:

you should make a guide of your own. or at least a step-by-step album of everything you did. with a pic that has buds the size ur plants do, everyone will read it. me especially. gonna use fox farm nutes and soil next time to try to mimic ur grow. tell me everything!

Thanks! I don't know if my way is the best or anything, but I appreciate the thoughts. I didn't really take any pics of this grow until the end, but I suppose I could start a journal for the next grow from day one and update it daily.

I am looking into getting another 1000 watt HPS for the next grow as well, thus eliminating the two 400 watt HPS lights, one of which I have already donated to a good friend who was "kind" enough to help me trim my current plants down for harvest.

This is the 1000 HPS watt unit I currently have:

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=50386

I also upgraded to the SunMaster bulb. I am probably going to get the exact same setup for my second unit for the next grow as I was more than pleased with the results this time around. :weed:

Looks great for second grow..I got the same 2 seeds from ghs and Its my first time around,, should I go with drip buckets or with the bubbleponics 6 pot system. My room is 3x3x6 and Im getting a 250 hps for flowing,,,how many should I go for?

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words, bro. However, I don't know a single thing about hydroponics. I strictly grow in soil myself simply because I prefer the taste. I do know that if you have 9 square foot grow space though (3x3) you should probably go with a little stronger light. I think a 400 watt HPS would do wonders for you in a space that size although a 600 would be even better. If there is one thing I have learned about light from this site it is that you can never have too much as long as you can keep your temperatures under control. Good luck and keep us posted, you are about to grow two great strains! :weed:

HASH IS DONE! :weed:

I just had four friends over and the five of us all got completely zooted off of about 2/3 of a bowl (roughly 0.4 grams) and it looks, smells and tastes fantastic. It has a really nice, light color to it kind of like chocolate milk and smells like citrus fruit (probably from the Big Bang) and tastes like a combination of flowers and lemon. Two of the people here both told me it was the best hash they ever had.

Here is how I made it:

Pic 1 - my box of trim. Half Big Bang and half White Widow.

Pic 2 - five gallon bucket filled about 75% with cold water.

Pic 3 - half of my trim (I did two buckets the exact same way) in the bucket with the water.

Pic 4 - topped off the bucket of water and trim with about three trays of ice.

Pic 5 - a shot of my power drill.

Pic 6 - a shot of the special mixing bit that I used to mix the bucket with for ten minutes.

Pic 7 - a picture of a bucket after I drained all the leaves and plant matter out of the bucket I mixed in and drained into this fresh one.

Pic 8 - a shot of the bucket after I let it settle for four hours and then siphoned it down to half an inch before where the hash was. You can sort of see it forming a ring at the bottom.

Pic 9 - a shot of the glass jar about two minutes after I poured the remaining contents of both buckets into them You can see the hash just starting to settle at the bottom.

Pic 10 - the same jar after I let it settle for two hours. You can really see the hash at the bottom of the jar now.

Pic 11 - after siphoning the excess water off the top of the jar and using a turkey baster to get it just right I poured the hash into a bowl with two sheets of wax paper.

Pic 12 - I let the bowl sit underneath a 400 watt HPS light for eight hours and then let it settle and air dry for another sixteen hours and this was the final product after breaking it up.

Pic 13 - anyone wanna smoke some hash? I got about 18 grams or so in the end. I couldn't be happier for my first time making hash!

Very nice grow. Keep us posted on that dry weight. For 13 plants I will take a shot at the dry weight and guess 24.7 ounces. I figured I would be exact. LOL. but I really do hope you hit your 2 lbs. I just dont think every plant is going to yield 2.5 oz but very possible. Bud shots look great. Your a great success to the riu community. keep it up brother.
