Big Buddha Critical Mass Auto Fem LED Grow....My First Ever Grow :)

Hey Guys, first off, if anybody wishes to comment or offer advice during this diary then feel free to jump in

Ok so I have 5 Plants and potted and under my lights and are currently 6 days old. Germinated them in ye old tissue paper lol. Setup is as follows :

1mx1mx2m tent

PhotonPro84 + Helios Pro 4 (both from growlightuk, both each supposed to be equivalent to a 400hps...we shall see lol )

Mixture of Canna Coco + BioBizz All Mix ( about 50/50)

Extra Perlite

Clay Pebbles ( 1 inch at bottom of pots and a little on top to stop nasties I guess lol )

12 litre Pots

Temps 23-24c at night, 26-28c daytime

So I made up a lil fresh air feed from an air vent in the room, just used ducting and a fan to pull the fresh air in. Plants seem to be doing ok, one went a little weird but seems to be pulling itself together lol.

First 2 days I only had the Helios light running and may have had it too low... I hung it at 18in....after those two days, I noticed the leaves getting a little white and read the manual for the lights to discover the should be between 2.5-3.5 ft away for optimal penetration. So I have added the other light now and moved them up to 2.8ft away and they seem to be liking it.

Only watered a little since I potted them and will leave to almost dry out everytime before I water again. Using Tesco Still Filtered bottled Water as it has a ph of 6.5. Obviously not gonna think about feeding for a good couple of weeks yet. Not sure on name of the nutes yet as its coming from a friend. All I know is it cost him £160 lol.

No filter in the setup yet as its not needed and I plan to remove the fan from my fresh air feed and let the vacuum created by the filter draw the air in.. at least in theory this should happen lol. Also I do have a lil 7in fan to keep the babies on their toes. The fresh air feed was originally entering top of the tent and then remembered that heat rises lmao so put the feed at the bottom now.

Now for some pics, anything I have missed out, lemme know and I will do my best to inform you. Seedling Pics were taken on day 5, took them under the LED lights on my iphone with the flash on so that it revealed MOST of the true colours lol.

Just wondering if it's worth doing one of these homemade co2 things guys? Was going to do it on a bigger scale using 5l bottles instead of 2 and the usual dried yeast and sugar. You think it's worth the bother?

Hey Guys, a few more pics, 12 days old now...doing well, the new sets of leaves aren't getting bleached since I hung the light at 2.8ft lol. Im going to fire up the other light in a couple of weeks. One plant looks a lil rough so to speak but growing ok. Just waiting for ph soil meter and humidity tester to arrive so I can check these things. Are these about the right size guys for their age? Anyway, Will let the pics do the talking, enough yapping!

Ok so I have noticed some little gnat fly things in and around my clay pebbles on top of my pots! :0 I'm going to remove all top clay pebbles as I think it's keeping the soil far too moist. I have watered twice in 12 days and not much at all but obviously the pebbles are not helping in way of a perfect environment for the flies and larvae going to use fly strips and cinnamon on the top of the soil. Supposed to work well. Anyone else have any ideas? Greatly appreciated!

Getting on top of the situation so it seems.. Just removed the clay pebbles, removed some top soil, replaced with cinnamon mixed in and hung fly strips and crawling insect strips on the soil. Caught a few and a few tiny baby flies have been caught so this is all good. Not watered for some time now but they are still going strong at 15 days old

Hey Guys...sooo looks like I have won the fight against the flies! I went and got a new 2.4x 1.2 x 2 tent and a rhino 150/600 filter and rvk fan with acoustic ducting. They are now 20 days old, showing pistils now .... I haven't given them any nutes just yet, waiting for it to arrive, hopefully will be today as 1 or 2 look like they need it. wont give flowering nutes for at least 2 weeks or so yet, maybe longer, see how it goes? The bushy girl tho... cant wait for that one to grow lol.. sorry about the bad pics, angles and lighting issues, going to use my gf's camera from now on and will do them justice next time let me know if anyone has advice and or comments please! Nice to know people are following lol. Here are the pics

They are coming along ok I think? This is only shots of a few of them. They range from about 15 to 21" atm. I'm still feeding vegging nutes for now, they are normally ready at about week 11 so I'm told so will continue veg nutes for another week and then switch. Just hope they grow some more height by then :/ Im using Cana Vega atm with a trace element mix added to it.

One plant has a rubbery type of leaf appearance unLike the rest, I believe this may be slightly different as when I rub the newly forming crystals, it stinks of lemon soo bad, they rest smell nice but this one is just lovely. It was also the one that has taken the longest to grow and only stands at 15" atm.

I left the led lights at the previous 2.2ft mentioned and let them do their thing. They got up to 18in away and they loved it. But I was worried they are not growing tall enough for their age and have moved the lights back up to 25in (just over 2ft).. Should I have not done this?? Do I want the lights close as poss even while giving veg nutes? I know during flowering they need to be close but I just want more height as these are ment to be a tall strain???

Oh and these are supposed to be done in around 80 days...

hey i have a similar light as you, how much did you pay for it?
also plants are lookin good, are they autoflowers?
why are they flowering so small?
also keep the lights as close as possible without burning them so the light can reach the bottom and so they stay somewhat bushy and dont stretch too bad

Hey thanks. £279 each for the lights. Yes they are autos and I didn't think the flowers were ment to be big at this stage. I haven't added any flowering nutes or boost or pk13/14 yet... I guess when I do then they will grow bigger lol?

One of my plants, the one with the rubbery leaves that smells like lemon, seems to have stopped growing in height. I believe this to be a drainage issue, she is a lot more moist than the rest.. Maybe I have stunted her growth somewhat.. Not expecting much from her.. Just gonna leave her out of the next watering, see what happens. It's week 5 today and will need to think about flowering nutes soon but the other 4 plants are doing almost an inch a day in height atm so what to leave it until that stops to get all I can. Any suggestions would be welcome.. I'm scared I'm doing things wrong lol

Someone must have some tips or negative comments if not? Lmao
