Big Game Hunters, Show Your Stuff

“Arthur again called ‘Tirez [shoot], monsieur, tirez, vite [quickly], vite, vite’, and I fired into the moose’s chest, when he was less than twenty feet away, coming full tilt at us, grunting, shaking his head, his ears back and his hair brindled; the shot stopped him; I fired into him again; both shots were fatal; he recrossed the little stream and fell to a third shot; but when we approached, he rose grunting and started towards us. I killed him. If I had not stopped him, he would certainly have killed one or more of our party; and at twenty feet I had to shoot as straight as I knew how or he would have reached us.”

That was well written and right up my alley, those quotes. Thanks for the reading material. Signed up to the news letter

I found a News Paper article on me years ago hunting with a Sidelock Muzzleloader back before inlines.

I wrote many Magazine Articles on Hunting, Trapping and just animals. I was also a Photographer back when it was all 35 mm and I ordered my film in bulk.

My most expensive hunt was Austrian Boar. But got one the second day with 50Cal. Muzzleloader. It was funny seen two over on a hill. My guide said they will run before we get there. I told him no if I get down here and follow the brush I will get one.

So I get up there shoot this Boar. It comes running for me, I'm trying my best to reload and that Boar drops at my feet.

My guide gets there he said he was looking for me dead or going to have to trail a Boar and it is nice to see I'm wrong on both.
