I grow birds of paradise many years ago 5 seeds bought from park seed. All germinated easily. they are very slow growing when I had them for 4 years they never bloomed. Gave them to a buddy and they bloom now at 20 years old and they are huge. 5 feet tall very healthy. They don't like full sun. shade is helpful. In their natural habitat they are under rain forest canopy.

Ive been growing them for ages, its dark now but i promise tommorow il go outside and get some pics....They are in flower now

Those are beautiful. I've been trying to sprout some Orange Bird of Paradise for a few weeks now.
