Birth Control Pills should be sold over the counter

Prohibition of rocket launchers, grenades, automatic weapons and your own drone with missiles as well as your own warship seems to be working alright. Prohibition works on things that have a low demand. Weed has a high demand, Birth control OTC has a high demand. Just no sense in making something with a high demand illegal. Although I will say that some women have problems with birth control or are taking drugs that may interact with birth control. A doctor should be involved I would think. Birth control isn't like some caffeine pill or a tylenol.

Those things aren't prohibited, I don't know where you get your information but it is wrong. Lots of ordinary citizens have automatic weapons, artillery pieces, tanks, Armored Personnel Carriers, Large anti aircraft guns etc etc etc.

What mainly makes those things hard to legally attain is supply and cost.

I'm surprised at that mainly because there have been no major shootings involving automatic weapons and no call to ban automatic weapons. Apparently the background checks and special licenses and money mean you're probably safe.

Any auto made after 1986 is illegal but before it is not. I assume that probably translates to other things as well. So people are prohibited from getting new shit.

You know who is against Birth control being over the counter?

Anti Abortion groups

Also, don't forget, supposedly 1.18 Billion (And growing) Catholics oppose the pill and oppose abortion.
they oppose it so much that an overwhelming majority of those catholic women use the pill or have used the pill (or will use the pill).

some principled opposition there.

I'd like to give a shout out to all those catholic girls from high school. You know who you are. Checkered pleated skirts above the knees, knee high socks, mary jane shoes, pig tail hair. Memories!

I'm no democrat but think the govt should provide FREE contraceptives to all that ask.
There would be less 14-34 year old trash walking the streets with kids and no fathers. All the welfare trash we pay for would decline.
If birth control were free like food, rent, utilities etc for these people, they would grab it up like a free Christmas ham.
Too bad Uncle Buck's mom didn't have free birth control.

Catholics don't oppose they pill, we're 90% Catholic and probably 90% of those women are on the pill.

We can even get it OTC and the price dropped from €95 to about €15 (in most places) overnight.

The catholic church "Officially" denounces use of BC and Abortion both. Officially, meaning Pope.

You guys are really good at helping me make my point, hardly any effort required on my part, just lead you to the farm and you will eat the hay.

Well they used to involve a doctors trip costing €50 as part of that ;)
OK. Still, 45 Euros (about $60) is a lot. Here in the US, you can get birth control pills for about $5 to $10 per month from places like Walmart. Free in charitable clinics. The doctors visit is probably $100 here.

Things that people contract for should be left up to the buyer and seller. The idea that products should be "controlled" via regulation seems an interesting topic on a pot forum.

Regulation doesn't necessarily mean something can't be OTC, you can regulate what a pharmacist sells for safety, etc (you don't want those dodgy Indian knock-offs) without going too far.

The same as you can make weed legal for all adult, but make it illegal to sell mouldy weed or weed unsuitable for human consumption.

Regulations are generally good, over-regulation or unnecessary regulation are the problems.

I'd wholeheartedly support that, save me thousands in welfare down the line.

Id also give all junkies whatever it is they do for free, they ain't gonna be committing crimes with resulting huge economic damage, much more than a couple tons of heroin (wouldn't be black market imported, price would be really low), cocaine or methamphetamine hydrochloride tablets.
