how do you guys think a black light would effect the plant and is it even able to grow it at all?

black lights are worthless for growing. the UV spectrum they emit is actually what all HID bulbs DO NOT have because it can damage plants.

Yes..Black lights are useless..Cfl's , Floros ,Mh ,Hps is the only way to go.

Black lights only work if you spray day-glow paint on your plants.
The black lights are for parties and stuff. Whut you need is a CFL reptile light from Pet Smart. They make em in 10-5-and 2 1/2% bulbs. They emit the right spectrum of UV light for plants. You want it mostly in the UVB range..which there is a lot of stuff written on this topic on this forum if you want to read up on it..watch the movie etc. I started out with a 10% and let it run two hours on the light cycle..it burnt the snot of everything within a 10 inch radius. I moved over to a 2.5 model and ran it the same time frame..didn't burn nothing..now whether it helped I aint sure. Anyway I was trying to disassemble the lights at last harvest and broke it. Now I got mercury pizzen everywhere no doubt. Went back to Pet Smart for another and all they had was 10's and 5's so I got a 5 this time. They will tear the hell out of a twenty dollar bill but supposedly the best habaneros come from near the equator which has the highest percent of UV light outdoors..or that whut the pot head in the movie say anyway. Sounded plausible to me. I aint never heard of any good peppas which come from Iceland for example..cept they grow it indoors maybe. Thats all I know. Hope this helps. You dont want UVC..that is designed to kill stuff. Aint sure whut UVA is designed to do but it purty worthless I think. Maybe good at parties and things like that.

No no, black lights only work if you have big black-light posters of the sun in the room with them.

I love the bullshit that people get on here... I have 4 fluro bulbs on my Grow Op and I was getting good results so I experimented with replacing one of the inside bulbs with a Black light and low and behold the plants grew an average 1in. taller per week so saying that black light wont help your Op is BULLSHIT!!! I was able to harvest in 2 months what might of took 3-4...so you decide!!
