Any idea if it will hurt my plants? Kinda need light after lights out but i dont want mess with 12/12.

I believe I read somewhere that red lights are ok. Don't quote me on that though. But honestly, i would do anything in my power to not have any light in there when it's dark, even if that means making a new place for them.

i also read somewhere that someone uses a green light and hasn't had their plants hermie...If you are using a regular incandescent black light bulb, and it is far from your plants, you will probably be ok, but I don't know, never done it.

Ya i don't think that red would be a good idea because the plants use the red spectrum. I believe most use a green light. They even sell a green headlamp at my local hydro store for working in the garden at night. Green light for sure!

well yea i mean when its absolutely unavoidable would black light mess with the 12/12 or would it provide light and maintain the 12/12?

and i mean like the 80s black lights

Ok, maybe it is green then. I couldn't remember. All I remembered was thinking that it was like a light you'd see in a submarine, lol. My mind works in strange ways. :P

use green light, plants reflect green back, thus that is why they look green. It is best to avoid working when lights are off , but sometimes you gotta

They should have no light on them at all in the dark period. But if there must be light then a GREEN light is the onlyyy way to go. You can get them super cheap at walmart or wherever. Any other light will make them herm and throw off the light cycle

Anyone know the spectrum of light a blacklight tube gives off? Wonder if the extra spectrum would help at any phase?

Buy a green LED traffic light off ebay if you want to see in the dark while your plants are in their dark cycle. It's the only color that they can "see". B/c Photosythesis is green or something i dunno.
