Black on seeds

My recent harvest, one plant is thoroughly seeded and while harvesting the seeds I noticed they all have this black coating on them that flakes off. I've never noticed it on any seeds before. It kind of looks like black mildew, there is no mold in the buds at all though and for being SUPER seeded the shit is potent as hell (NYCD). Matter of fact I don't notice a difference in potency from the un pollinated plant vs the pollinated...

You prolly have feminised wicked dzel ultra-medicinal voodoo protecta coated seeds.

recently that canadian seed co, next generation seeds - ran two, one grapefruit diesel (tbl) that hermied 'some' may have been more crystally/medi than the other genotype that didn't hermie plus it purp'ed up. true breeding strain/lines here mostly, but won't pass up a stable fem. cut.

got the same on a batch of seeds too, not on another. different cultivars tho. And yes the black/striped (the substance can be easily scraped off) beans are rock-hard so I would be inclined to think they are mature. also having issues germing that run even (0:25) after 30 day dry +10 day ~34F. we're talkin with rapid rooters, paper tower, heat mat, everything but scarification and H2O2. Thoughts? Haven't tested the other beans yet.

stump- you tried popping any yet?

potency isn't affected by seeding it's yield only. seedy buds aren't prefered cuz you're paying for something you arent' smoking. I dont' know the technical name for it but I've seen it and used seeds that had it, nothing to report-they were just like any other seed aside from the weird black stuff. Did you pop them out after a dry and cure or not?

I had a few seeds with bright pink stripes on them that came out of some bright pink lower buds that hermied on me. They were extremely cool looking but I couldn't get my camera to focus on them well enough to get a pic...

I harvested just the seeds from the popcorn once they were dried. The big buds are still curing. I got enough seeds out of the popcorn to last me 10 years lol.. I haven't tried popping any. I'm heading back to some SugarPunch next run.

Yea though not the longest cure, I have another run in cool treatment that will have been cured longer.
Potency is affected... When a plant is pollinated it puts most of its energy into producing seeds instead of resin. Which results in lower potency.
Apparently that depends on your strain/setup because I, like stump, report no decrease in potency in the seeded (trich forest ftw) granted the effect is altered as I let it run longer to finish the beans out, tad more amber than I prefer

My pollinated NYCD is as resiny and potent as the un-pollinated NYCD. So... I guess you're wrong. :)

I will also add that the pollinated colas were almost double the size too... (2 litre bottles)

I'll eat my words with salt and pepper if you have some docs proving it. I don't mean to sound confrontational even though I know I do but is the difference in the tenths of a percent or percent? I assume you did a side by side with clones and if you did I want to haer it. I'm getting my info from older books I admit and internet sources but I can find one to refute as soon as I find one that confirms so I'm with my labless gut here with what I say. I'd consider you a pretty decent source if you got the goods you can post on here and probably change my opinion.

the link doesn't really say it's more potent as a qualitative just quantatative which we all know, seed weight isn't weed weight but is potency affected? it doesn't say. the thc% won't take a dive it'll be the same profile.....unless you got labs that say otherwise.

I always get less bud of the same strength vs seeded and non.
So the bud with seeds is just as good..there is just less of it.
As far as I can tell. Once I pick the seeds out of the one with seeds, I can't tell the difference between seeded and not...

Ya know you asked for a picture so I wasted the time taking one, you could at least post your comment on the comparison ffs I didn't meant to "stump" you.

My honest opinion is both nugs look like low quality medicine. Also both appear to have been from a pollinated harvest that had heat issues.
