... Scotch tastes like dirt to me, but I never had an experienced scotch sherpa ...
Never even tried single malt Scotch ( blended varieties are just EWW! ) until about 7 years ago, someone poured me two fingers of The Dalmore and didn't tell me what it was. Oh and I was most likely high at the time too.

The three of us finished that bottle over the evening and we smoked several more bowls. And I've been into the Northern Scotland distillates ever since - such as Highland Park, Dalmore, Bowmore, Glenfiddich 18 year.

All of these are a much smokier and fuller bodied flavour than something like a Glenlivet and Glenmorangie. And when I want the ultimate in smoke and full peat flavour - please draw me a glass of Lagavulin
