Mornin'.....

I gotta sit back and live vicariousy through those of you who can get off on edibles. Doesn't happen here. I've given up.

I'm thinking of giving dry trimming a go because I'm actually going to imbibe on some of the upcoming sativa flower offerings. I usually just chop that shit all up right off the stem and freeze it for hash. With only doing a tent grow...there's not that much bud to play with so it might just get jarred.
Ah....decisions.

^^ I would still remove the larger fan leaves wet. They just pull off. If you leave them to get dry they can wrap around the buds and cause some trichs to knock off or stick to the fans as you unwrap them to trim sugar leaves. But ymmv.

Good beepus, meepus. You're looking neatus.

I've heard folks say they get more taste dry trimming. I've given it a stab and for an outside/large garden with poundage...it seemed like it was gonna be a pain...but for a small tent take....it might be worthy/doable. I'm out of practice for the deep (retail) trim job though. LOL. I just can't sit there for free. CHOP CHOP CHOP in the hash bag it goes. No trimmin':D:clap:.

i'm very out of practice. I just plop it all in the trimmer and go to the spin zone o_O
hash really does sound good. Do you use a standard home freezer?

I use the freezer to keep/store ziplocks full of frozen buds from the Summer outdoor grow. I bought a freeze dryer to dry the final product.

But you don't need all of that for small runs. You just need frozen buds and bubble bags and some elbow grease. I did a lot of runs by hand before I broke down and bought a cheap Chinese washing machine. It does take a bit of weed to play though. Such is why I grow outside. Indoors is just too much work/waste of electricity for such small returns. I only do it for the fun/to quell boredom....not cus I need the pot. :D

Yep. Only time we don’t pluck fan leaves is when taking down huge outdoor grows. It’s just not pactical.

Def not gonna get the nose from wet trimmed that you will from dry trimming. When you wet trim, you usually dry on screens, hanging screen trays whatever and i’m pretty sure the buds dry too fast. Whereas hanging plant sections takes a little longer.
One thing i never tried was cutting into hangable sections and trimming then hanging to dry. Maybe that isn’t as bad as putting trimmed buds onto screens? But then again i cant picture having the time to do that while taking down my indoor crops.

I've only used dry bud. I'll give frozen a try some time
Night and day right there. Dry pot will give you more of a kief-like/old time-like hash. Good...but just not >as< good as when frozen material is used. More than likely it won't truly bubble...but you'll smile anyway.

Feel the same about indoor. It’s fun to garden in the dead of winter, but not gonna be pulling Cartel numbers indoor unless your @Laughing Grass. Outdoor has its own challenges, but it’s all part of the trip. Sun, dirt under the nails etc. Ahh, I’m starting to get wistful for summer…8-)
Cartel numbers...LOL. I love it.

I was strictly indoors for 25 years...mostly growing clones and filling bags. :p Thing is...I had rooms then...not tents. Yikes.

Finally (got old) and moved to a spot where I can do outdoor....so that's been the focus for the last 8 seasons or so. The tents are mostly for running different folks seeds and seeing what I might want to place outside. It's all for fun now. I still grow too much weed but hey...such is life. Yer only here once.

I've always hung my plants...whether I chopped em into stems or did em whole. Screen dried is flat dried...LOL.

90% of my grow is made into hash now. I have wet trimmed plants while still growing/in their pot...cus it's easier for me to stand and go at it than wrestle branches/use a tray/etc. and then cut/hang the entire plant rather having to string wire/etc to hang branches from. If it's a hash candidate...we strip the fans and quickly knock off any other leaf that sticks out/has a stem. The rest gets chopped into the bag/frozen. I don't even worry about the small stems. Whack.
