Feel ya. Last night I offered my daughter ham or pork chops, two things we have more than enough of and she was like, "Do we have any real meat." I found some pulled pork and she was like, "Eh that's a little better." I'm like damn one of the last 3 packs of ground beef we have. Whole family is getting really tired of pork in general.
We did chicken last night, not a lot of that left either.

I don't know about you guys but we shop the sales and stock up. I have a vacuum sealer so we usually have beef, chicken, pork and shrimp on hand. Sometimes if it's a long time between sales we might run out of one or the other but not often.
My trigger prices are 1.99 for beef or pork .99 for chicken breasts and 4.99 for large shrimp. When they hit those prices I buy as much as they'll let me, even if I still have some left from last time.

I realize that I have been rather silent these past few days. There is a reason for that, my fellow B&D'ers:
  • I've had to keep my co-workers & backup folks updated ad nauseum
  • I have had to make sure that all the servers I access they can also access
  • I made sure they have the same permissions and stuff
  • We had to make sure they can do all the same shit on their lappers as I can do on mine.
And the reason for all of that -

Passin' on the barrels folks. The fall and subsequent crash in those big boulders below will definitely impede my takeaway the next morning.

:-D

Now this might be a touch evil of me ... but I am kind of hoping that we get to see the Iron Scow go one year.

It got stuck there in 1918 and didn't move for almost 101 years, But it's now shifted some 50 meters to the left since 2019.

If you have the freezer space, it’s hella convenient. I have a flank steak recipe my kids like and was gobsmacked by the cost at the store. That used to be a throw away cut and now it’s priced like it’s caviar. Bonkers.
Price of a cow has pretty doubled. I used to pay 1100 for a whole and 250 for the butcher. Now it's around 950 for a half and 500 to the butcher. Fortunately my freezer is full with venison, and fish as well. I never enjoyed hunting but one a year keeps good food on the table.
