I recall the time the owner put key logging software on all the supervisors desktops.
Boy was he pissed! His brother in law was looking at porn all day. The maintenance supervisor was downloading hours and hours of music. Me I had been looking at sailboats all day, every day. Had to tone it down to just my lunch hour.

I cleaned up someone's infested work computer, reformatted, reinstalled evrything and didn't rat him out.
Took 6 hrs to restore everything.
"no more porn" i said.
"oh, I learned my lesson!" he said.
2 hrs later it's completely infested again, he went right back to the porn fetish sites so I turned him into the boss.
He must have been wanking off right at the sales counter, ugh.

And this is a reason why I'm a mechanic keeps the hands bissy lol

happy friday. gorgeous day here in the midwest. busy day planned with lots of bread to bake. market in the morning and then i think we're supposed to go to a potluck at a local farm tomorrow evening. lord knows i need as much vitamin D, fresh air, and sunshine as i can get right now. my mental health depends on it. haha!
the sailboat sold before we could look at it. i'm unreasonably sad about it today.

My IT "WTF you thinkin" moments:

2 University administrators: Obviously illegal Porn (Turned In to admin and cops)

6 University Professors: Self Porn with their Grad Assistants, Grade A amateur work. (I gave them a talking to and a stern look, I wasn't going to blow both tenure and grad degrees for other people, if they get outed by someone else not my problem I just let them know they were being epically careless and ethically dubious, but the grad students were well into their 20's and profs were ... well profs.)

A certain admin in the athletics office: Self made, her and approx 1/4 the team.

A secretary: She and the Dean of her college had a nice little collection built of their tirades, a little over 50gb in the 90's I was impressed.

Half a Campus of professors and staff: Copious porn, music and movies.

Out of college:

Two state elected officials, crashed a 2 TB shared network drive with their Netflix Rip project.

1 VP of marketing: more porn.

My direct manager: Furries.

I carried a personal laptop for my own needs, there was nothing but an outlook exchange mailbox file and diagnostic tools on my work computer. It was a crappy Dell, it could barely play a Happy Birthday mp3 without crashing. So it was useless for anything interesting, my pre-Dell buyout 2004 Alienware Area51-M, now that was a media powerhouse up until the desktop grade GTX chip combined with Half-Life 2 melted the board.

Moved to hackintoshing in 2011 after I retired from IT. Purchased my first real Apple computer, M1 Studio, last May. No more Windows or 700w room heaters for me.

at my first "real job" out of college i worked at a marketing place, the kind where you can order "trash and trinkets" type promo stuff. we mostly did screen printing and embroidery of apparel, so we had a graphic artist in-house. he went on vacay and we had to access his computer to get some files for the embroidery crew while he was out. his desk was in a back room in the back of the warehouse, and to get to it you had to open a very squeaky door and then walk down a creaky walkway - he always had at least 30 seconds of notice that someone was coming his way. anyway, he had so.much.porn on that computer. even his damn screensaver and wallpaper was porn! needless to say, we never saw him again - his vacation was permanent LOL

....but also, who is wanking off at work in their office???? i mean, there is no worse moodkiller for me than each and every place i've ever worked.

We had a supervisor at our last job that would look at porn in his cubicle, visible to half the office. Finally got fired for sexually assaulting one of his workers. He told her he would turn her in as a former convict if she didn't submit. Raped her daily in a storage building until she finally had enough.
This guy was a real piece of work. shaved head with a skull tattooed on it. Numerous Aryan nation tattoos and a swastika on his back.
Our manger promoted him because he acted tough. He thought that's what made a good supervisor. This was the same manger that ordered navy blue polyester uniforms for the crew. I had a huge argument with HR over that. Keep in mind that this is Tucson with summer temps approaching 110 degrees. He contended that they looked better and were just as cool as khaki.

Well now days I work from home, I sleep in my studio, I write music in my studio, I grow weed in my studio, I edit movies in my studio, I basically exist in a 10'X12' box. Since about 1/3 of my video edits are porn related or porn, guilty on occasion. Back when I worked for the universities and governments, no way.

Now that I live in the studio or the festival grounds, I'll possibly partake of the unprincipled buffet, my youthful virtue earned me that in mid-life.

The marketing manager of the CATV company needed to have the playboy channel authorized in his office for some reason. His door was closed a lot. At end of day channel recall revealed what he'd been viewing. Fired!

I had similar pop-ups for HOURS a few months ago. It's a phishing expedition trying to get you to somewhere you don't need to be. Wanna wager you don't have said virus?

I just added that site to me block 'em list ... then I let my Windows AV do it's thing.
