When I was still living at home, my Parental Units always ruled by their golden rule "as long as you are living under our roof ... you WILL follow our rules!" A line that was used on me continuously until I moved out in 1983.

Anyway, this past summer, we were at a funeral for one of my uncles and a somewhat tense conversation (I had not seen any of them in 17+ years so things were a little tense), I casually told my Mom and sisters, herein referred to as The Ilk, that I grew and have for over 6 years. Heck I even showed The Ilk some of my best pictures. I always have a few hundred on the phone.

That "Oh ... we are so disappointed in you!" scowl came across all three of The Ilk's faces. Shaming was another trick they tried continuously until I moved out in 1983. I just looked at The Ilk and chuckled "I ain't living under your roof anymore ..."
 
Trip to town was uneventful. I'm back holding down my corner of the couch where I belong.
EVERY time I got ice cream when I was living at home my dad had to say "You got half a gallon of ice cream there?" Didn't matter if I had a teaspoon in a bowl, he had to say it every time. He came to visit and I made myself ice cream, and you know what came out of his mouth. I told him, "It's my fuckin ice cream I bought and paid for and I can take it and throw it in the road if I want to!." He stopped saying that.

My report on the brownies. Divided the pan into 32 pieces and took one this morning. 6 hours later I'm regaining my functions. I'm thinking about half of that next time. They kick like a mule.

...and here I was going to suggest doubling it over instead of halving it. Make that ride last an entire half day, wheeeeeee.
Also known as how I broke a music festival. Cookies so strong everyone went to bed instead of staying up partying. I was in
so much trouble when the event woke up Saturday morning, rested, relaxed, and ready to take on the world and the open bar
still had booze in the morning.

Sheesh, sorry I ruined roughly ~400 hangovers.
