Blaze & Daze

A member here had a large dead limb fall on his cart. It crushed the roof, narrowly missing his head, but he was pinned and his foot was mashed down on the gas pedal so the cart wheels were spinning wildly while the cart stood still. His buddies extricated him without injury, other than bruises. I am not a fan of carts. We banned beer carts years ago except for a few charity tournaments and even then they're stationary. They slow play and beat up the course.

... They slow play and beat up the course ...
For years, most of the courses required the beer carts to follow the paved paths. With the extra weight they can tear up the sod so they instruct them to stay on the paths or the rough.

Oh yeah ... those 5+ hour rounds!! Most often it's because the wrong groups found the beer carts. But with a bunch of equitable caliber groups out there, beer carts don't affect the pace of play.

the first time i let it warm up the dry sift then off straight away

roll the flat sift in a ball

then the last two times i turn it on first wait a bit then turn it off wait then as its still fing hot

re squish the ball and hold as it cools, much slower that way better result

My course was built in 1926 so there isn't room for continuous cartpaths on several holes. Pace of play is affected when you're in the fairway waiting for the group in front to leave the green and suddenly the beer cart drives up greenside for a big transaction. Super annoying. Glad we don't have them. The clubhouse and the snack shack provide 4 opportunities to replenish during a round. Surely that's sufficient.

Yay! BnD is now the official RIU golf thread!

Good morning

I think it would be fun to have a driving range next to a skeet range. I'd use up a couple boxes of shells trying to hit a golf ball with my 12 Ga. No, I don't golf, wish I could walk that far.
Mornin.
There's a golf course nearby with a marshland shooting range. We used to host the state Ducks Unlimited Tournament until that place opened up lol. Golf, beer, shotguns. what could go wrong???????

GUNBALL! You made a new sport and didn't try and make it a thing? Imagine like polo, but it's teams of 2. One driver, one gunner in carts trying to pellet a golfball into a goal before your opponents. Maybe some shielding on the carts so nobody loses an eye.
