I never much appreciated my parent's generation calling mine slackers.
Personally, all the young adults I know work harder than most of my peers, age wise. And they are still figuring out who they are,
I think as we get older we have forgotten how big and daunting the world is. We find a boring, safe groove, and it wears away some of the grit we felt accumulating experience.
Our softness educates our palates to enjoy the bitter a little more, since it is in abundance. We claim the sweetness of youth is now cloying to us, perhaps because we don't have the energy or will to reach for that fruit. An apple that sits very very high, on very thin branches.
Branches our amble derrieres would snap.
Every generation has claimed the one that is to inherit tomorrow is too this or that.
Every generation has claimed to know best.
Every generation has grabbed and squandered more resources for pettier and pettier reasons.
Every generation has claimed their parents were horrible teachers.
Every generation was right about that last claim.
Their music does suck, but that is the fault of corporate music interests. It only sucks more to me because I am not familiar with it.
Stick it on the radio in my formative years and I am sure I would have eaten it up.
One day they will also be playing casinos and riverboats for moms and dads cosplaying when they were "with it."
For the TLDR crowd
