Blaze & Daze

Out with the old(2019) in with the new.
This Cycle Stop Valve setup replaces the fucking dumb bladder tank setup. Someday i’ll build the pump house over it all. If I only knew a carpenter!
I still need to wait about another hour for the glue to dry before I shower and water the garden.

Wasn't the bladder there to keep a constant pressure on the output?

Yeah, to keep pressure behind while pump isn’t on. With the 50/70 switch i had on there would cycle all the time and the contacts on the pressure switch would get stuck/shut occasionally and that happened the other day and blew up that stupid tank even with the pressure relief valve working.

The cycle stop valve, with a 50/70 switch turns on at 50psi, just like on a pressure tank setup, but runs at a constant 60psi until it doesn’t need to anymore. So instead of dropping down to 50 then turning pump on stopping at 70 and repeat, it’s allot less wear and tear on the system. Plus i get a constant pressure. Will be way better when I water the lawn I should be able to grow later this year.

How deep is your well?

Mine is incredibly shallow for around these parts. Right at 300’ and i have not ran out of water yet. All my neighbors’ wells are like 750 +/- and some of them ran out of water in the middle of the drought a few years back.
I think ours was 125' up on the ridge. We weren't very far from the lake but we were up on a hill. Talked to the current owner of the place and he said the water rotted out the copper plumbing.
