I grew my very first patch at 14 (45 years ago) and thought I'd do what the Indians did and plant a seed and a smelt together (they ran up our creek by the millions) and nope, don't do that lol. Besides the god awful smell the raccoons and bears dug up the whole field lol. Thank god I had a thousand seeds from the Mexican my brother had pounds of :).
Every hole that you put a fish in got robbed .....

smelt, bullpout, perch, dace etc. bury em in fall go plant in those buried fish spots nxt spring.
I think il just stick to buying my organic fish emulsions and eat all the fish I catch when I have the munchies......I am potueguese so I eat pretty much everything

No shit ......no pun intended lol ......I'd be so pissed ...maybe that's why the Indians/native Americans used to do it .....bury fish in there garden to grow food ...meanwhile when an animal came to dig up the fish they could just kill it and eat that to .....growing and hunting all in the same area .......native Americans are very interesting I love going to look at artifacts and learn things about different tribes

Hehe, or it was just all a big troll to try and kill off some settlers ;)

I'm part Blackfoot, guess they were sweat-lodgey plains type. Wish I knew more about them, should probably do that some day.

Well it was like a heard of elephants went through it but again it was like 40 years ago .... I've evolved a bit .... Now I buy it all mashed up into a liquid but no animals this year :)
