For those that missed, the racist Scotchman went on a truly epic rant, said I was a black man then proceeded to violate TOS using racially charged epithets such as ni--er and other terms. I guess he thought it would trigger a black person. Maybe because that's the way Scotchmen respond to anti-Scotch ignorance. He employed the completely ignorant "go back where you came from" statement.

Rolli was kind enough to leave other people's posts up that replied to the racist Scotchman and substituted "Removed" for the offending text.

He could have just deleted it all and it would have been OK but I do appreciate the time he took to preserve the dialogue while taking the stick to our current resident racist contributor.

23. When Siri refuses to understand a single word you say because she's racist.

As far as I'm concerned, if they believe in the US constitution and the rule of law, that's good enough for now considering circumstances. No person who supports the constitution and rule of law can support or vote for Trump, 40% of Americans support fascism and even more would if it had a prettier face that they could stomach.

Racism & bigotry in most cases are the result of conditioning and conditioning works on both conscious and unconscious levels, often people's views evolve intellectually, but the conditioning remains. Racism like sin is difficult of remove from ones soul, often the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Conditioning works both ways too and if 75% of the white people a black person meets are racist on some level, it makes an impression and certain patterns become apparent among people at different stages of social evolution.

This is a unique time in history, because technology has sped up the pace of not just scientific and technological advances, but of social progress too. Look at the attitude changes toward smoking, drinking, gay rights and women of a few decades ago, this often conflicts with the conditioned way some (older in general) people think the world should be. Many smokers cried "freedom" when the kicked their asses out of the bars, same for seatbelts and motorcycle helmets.

No, just people who claim to hate those around them and despise the culture and the place that they are they are living in, but I figured you were just pissed, happens to me too.

Don't concern yourself too much with purity my soul zeddd, there's work to be done on yer own. Who knows we might both "evolve" some more in the coming years, the times they are are a changin, right before our eyes, Donald accelerated the process, unintentionally.

So, Scotchland people should follow the US Constitution? Does the US have to do the heavy lifting for them too?

We are trying to figure it out. Getting it wrong, going through an upheaval, shifting back and forth, and so on. Change is messy, which is why conservatives, the people who are already comfortable, don't want it. What the OP and you have done is show that there are plenty of other places in the world that aren't even trying. Status quo means stagnation. Eventually there will be a reckoning.

Just assessing the situation as I see it and yes I too am subject to subconscious conditioning as have we all. The point is, if you support liberalism (rule of law etc) it will inevitably lead to human rights for all, even if you are a bigot on some level, or even overtly one, those ya kinda gotta live with, just gain power. All the civil rights leaders are liberals, I watched Jim Clyburn (King maker) the other day on TV, the rule of the constitution and law are more to him than a black female VP, he is pragmatic! It's a patient logical approach, there is no other way in a liberal civil society, in the end PR and their own rules get them.

Like I keep saying, toleration is not enough, but until we get there it's better than the alternative. These racist and bigots are being silenced by not just society, but by their peers and employers, that's why they whine and bitch. Nobody likes change, it's one of the traditional 3 kinds of suffering, we resist it, like growing old it is inevitable. Ideas, conditioning and everything else die away with the generations too, it's good to remember we are processes within processes and not a fixed thing. We are just passing through until we pass away, hopefully we leave the world a better place than when we found it.

Then it's from one racist asshole to an even worse racist asshole. Someone who can't pick issues and motives out because he's got a sore asshole, your gripe ain't political, it's personal and you are abusing an important topic to pursue it. Focus on those who are the problem, Americans liberals need to gain power to fight racism and calling everybody and their dog a racist doesn't help. There are plenty of real racist assholes popping up here all the time 40% of voters, almost all of them white are racist fascist, focus on them, they are the ones who are causing immediate harm.

Maybe you think you are dealing with an American or a Brit and not someone who lives (and largely grew up) in a multicultural society, we ain't perfect, but we are trying more than most.

No change without conflict. Canada and Scotland are very comfortable with their own brands of racism. I hope that pointing out deficiencies in your own culture has the same good affect that you are trying to have in the US with your avalanche of posts on the US from your seat in NS. We agree on much and the US has much to do to effect it's own change. Therefore I'm not here to cast stones to the north or across the Atlantic or even effect change in the US. I'm here to learn. This therad is about racism in Scotland whether the OP intended it or not. I didn't start it but I am kind of glad the racist Scotchman showed up to clarify the situation over there.
