Blocking out smell

Hey everybody.
Before I start growing, I would like to know the best way to get rid of the smell. I do not have an exhaust fan in my walk-in closet. I just need a good way to block out the smell of weed that won't be a lot of money. I've heard in incense is a good way. Are there any products out there that if I use enough of them, I can rid the smell completely?
I've thought about just keeping a spray can in there and spray it everyday.
But I thought I'd ask on here.

Theirs no way you can get rid of the smell completely, and I don't think incense would do that much. Have you ever smelled a grow room, or is this you're first time?

if you get something like ona gel or other scent killers you will have to replace them frequently and its pretty expensive, you should go and get a hepa carbon filter air purifier, it sucks in the smelly air and cleans it like a carbon filter would on an exhaust fan in a way. They tend to be extremely loud imo though.

Ahh....thank you Nox and dark. Yeah this is my first grow. I just wanted two baby plants...ya know...My own marijuana that I don't have to buy

and I've done hella research and think I'm ready. But this smell thing might turn it in a wrong direction. How much is the air purifier? Hopefully not a crap load.

And can you emphasize "loud"

I want you to know this layout...
My room is in the basement of the house. Stairs in the center...walk about 20 feet back and you get to my room. walk another 15 feet back and there is my walk in closet.. Both have doors which will be shut. How noticeable is this sound?

You could just jerry rig a fan to a carbon filter and have it in your grow room. Seems like it would do the job

i got a better idea i dont know how i forgot. It's actually pretty easy and cheaper compared to other options and im going to assume your using clfs or tubes since youve got no real ventilation so temps would probally be too high to go for any hid lighting. Anyway though, they now make cfl bulbs that have built in air purifiers to eliminate smells and smoke and other airborne particles. just get yourself 4-6 of em and you should be good.

Its what I plan to do since Im renting my appartment and dont feel like killing my deposit by cutting holes in the wall and vents xD

Woah! I really need to find these CFL bulbs. Yes at the moment I am using 2 100 watt cfl bulbs. I heard each plant requires at least 75-80 watts...so 100 fuck yeah!!

I will check those out. Hopefully they make them in 100 watt...cause I jerry rigged a lamp. Using a dryer vent thingy, and my own little electrical outlet thing. It's quite awesome =) I'm quite happy.
(I'm high, though) WHEEE!
anyways...thank you for the information Dark and Weed socks man, I will definitely have to check that out. Maybe it will work. Btw I was just thinking of having a nice 6-8 inch fan in my little grow box. I think that would be enough. Letting the leaves get the feeling they are in the real world yeah?

Soo i know it's been about 5 minutes since I replied to your last comment, but I think I just got my mom to buy me a 100 dollar air purifier for my room using the excuse that the mice keep dying making my whole room smell like mouse corpses. WHOOO! But if she decides not to buy it, I am gonna take you up on that cfl bulb air purfiying high tech awesomeness.

If you save the drywall cutouts, you would be surprised how easy those holes are to patch/repair.

your problem sounds alot like mine my room is in the basement and i grow in my walk in closet

I dont have a scent killer niether

what light do you use?

I grew some skunk and my whole room smelt like skunk, my mom was spazzin lol

Haha! damnnnn yeah man i live with my mom too and she won't just spazz if I get caught...she'll fucking throw me out of the house! BUT I WANT MY WEEED DAMMIT! lol.
At the moment, I plan to use 2 100 watt CFL bulbs. I made a nice little light fixture that seems to be perfect for my little grow box. Are you also using a growbox? or just using your whole walk in closet?

And my growbox is 3 feet tall, 4 feet in length, and 1 and half feet wide. It's really actually quite anice growbox. If I can ever find my camera...I will be sure to post some pictures on here ya!
Did she still let you grow it? Cause if she did, you have an awesome mom...

And what lights are you using?

I've setup my new rig... i have alot of fans in there lol.. more then what i need.. feels like a whirlwind in there around the plants. i can get up to 90 degrees on a plant and i put my hand under the bulb about 4-6" above the plant and still doesnt burn my hand =/ i love wind =D
