Blue Dream and Jack Herer grow

Hey everyone! Just excited to share some updates on my indoor grow of Blue Dream and Jack Herer strains. 2 of each, Blue Dream seeds are from Blimburn, Jack Herer are from Black Skull Seeds. Both are super vigorous and fun to grow.

The J.H.'s have been fickle AF and I've had to ride the amount of nutes I'm giving constantly to avoid burn. The B.D.'s are super dense and bushy, so much so that the one is shading itself out and has created the densest canopy I've had on any plant yet.

Growing in FF soil, using Botanicare nutes. Today is first day of week 12 from seed, starting week 5 of flower today also. First attempt at individual SCROG setup, I've been pleased so far.

Thanks for looking!

Ive heard blue dream are one of the largest plants you can grow. Hope its true and yours are monsters
Thank you southernontario. I have heard they are huge producers too. Right now the Jack Herer's are taller, but I can tell the Blue Dream colas will be thicker and denser already. Looking forward to see how each strain ends up in the final product. Already smelling and looking very different from each other.

The dreaded BUD ROT....

Last night inspected one of the Blue Dreams closer because her upper leaves were turning brittle and yellow-orange... and found bud rot. The yellowing only started a week or so ago, and I didn't even think about botrytis until yesterday. So disappointing.

Anyway, got rid of all the main buds and kept the smaller ones, but may end up getting rid of those too. For now, down to 3 plants and hoping like hell the others don't end up with it too. I think the Jack Herers will be ok, but the other Blue Dream may already be showing signs of rot. Will just have to keep an eye on it for now...

I know for next time I will have to up my pruning game. I left these Blue Dreams way too dense to make it through without mold problems. Not too hopeful for this other BD, but at this point I don't want to cut anymore and provide any more potential wounds for mold to enter if it hasn't already.

Bummer about the rot. What is the fan situation in the tent? I don't see one in the pics, its probably just out of sight though

Bud rot indoors typically due to low air flow

Yea, there is an oscillating fan just out of frame. But I think you're right - I should have raised the BD plants up to the level of the Jack Herers. I rotate the plants weekly in the tent, and I think the rot set in when the Jack Herers (taller) were in between the fan and the Blue Dreams and blocking the air flow. Another adjustment for next time.

Bummer 'bout the botrytis.
I've had grows 65% RH to the end without an issue many times. I've also gotten rot when I thought it was unlikely.
Good air movement will help to mitigate the risk of rot, all the leaves should be moving, no stagnant air.

A little surprising that you got botrytis with such low humidity, maybe add another fan or two if need be.
