So here we are. 2 Days in to flowering. I gave her 24 hours of solid dark, then put her on 12/12 as of this morning at 11am. 1-2 more weeks and I will swap out the lights for the 2700k spectrum (hopefully reducing the stretch). Gave her a nice pruning as well.... smells amazing.. :weed:

Just sprouted my Blue Dream seed - freebie from HSO that I got with my last Attitude order. Stoked to see how this turns out. I veg under CFLs and flower under a combo of LED and (2) 150w 2700k CFLs. Had some great results so far. I am definitely going to keep my eye on this to learn from your experience on this plant.

Your plant looks awesome! Nice job man.

- She is just over 3ft tall from the top of the soil, to the top of the plant. Add another 1 1/4 ft for the custom bucket she is in if you like :-o

Wow. That's a beautiful CFL grow.

- Thank You All. ;-)

Love the smell of Blue Dream.
- As do I

I'm wondering about if its blue dream as well I just harvested it, non feminized clones for a reputable dispensary here are pics leaves are thinner. Trying to upload pics can't seem to right now
Real Blue Dream is clone only. Any grown from seed are only knock offs. BD is Sativa dom, so the leaves should be thinner.

While I have no doubt of your veracity, as I am sure you know what you're talking about. The seed repository I purchase from has never let me down. So even if it isn't "true" Blue Dream, just some close facsimile, I am still extremely pleased with the results of the grow up to now.

The listing from the site is as follows :
Blue Dream is a legendary California medical strain that commands top dollar around the state. Our Blue Dream seeds taken from California are made up of blueberry (dj) crossed with super silver haze , making it both sativa and indica in characteristics. Blue Dream seeds are a massive cash cropper. Blue Dream has a dense bud structure packed with glistening trichomes. The plant can get quite large thanks to its sativa influence making yields very handy. The smoke has a hashy flavour with fruity hints and the effect is both physical and cerebral . With colder night times the plant can turn purple/blue.

Real Blue Dream is clone only. It was bred by a local breeder in Santa Cruz, CA (where I live). He was working on a haze for several years called Santa Cruz Haze, and decided to introduce DJ Short's Blueberry. Blue Dream is a select genotype from that cross (Santa Cruz Haze x DJ Short Blueberry).

What they are selling you as Blue Dream doesn't even have the true genetic makeup that BD has.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure your stuff is good, and I really don't want to turn your thread into a debate or anything. The problem I have is that people start cloning these fakes and passing them around as the real deal, and everything gets all mixed up.

They should simply call that seed strain Blueberry Silver Haze, because that's what it is. Not BD.

Like I said, I am sure you are correct. I did a bit of research and everything you've said seems to be legit. I'm curious now to see what the final product looks like if this is indeed some knock-off. I've tasted real Blue Dream from a few dispensaries so I'm familiar with smell/look/flavor.

Quite interested in seeing how this facsimile compares.

Anyway, Thank you for the insight PJ. I am always appreciative of anything new I can learn.

Hey there PJ! im in the same neighborhood :]

I have a question for you, i feel you may have knowledge on..

I was given a clone back in september, the name on its little label said BCZ.. I believe it stands for either Blue Santa Cruz, or Santa Cruz Blues..... was from a friend, and i believe it came from CGC, off soquel..

Thats ALL i know.. i have been growing her for a few months and im absolutely in love with her, fast rooter, fast grower, just fast, a bit of trouble getting the purple out of the stems when shes a baby though.. nice fruity nugs.. and great extracts!

WELL, my question finally.. do you know the real name of my strain? what was involved in the creation of it? i feel if i could find out its name, and parents, i could understand her better.. she clones like a champ.

im a new farmer, but if you'd like to see what im working with, you can follow my links to see her.. hope to hear back from ya soon!

I don't know. My guess would be Blue Cheese, but why not call and ask them? I got my Green Crack clone from them.

Beautiful looking grow. You don't typically see that kind of density in a CFL grow.

I've been watching for a couple weeks now, figured I might as well say "hi" and officially start watching.

Should be a good one, if how it's gone this far is any indication!

I wanted to let a little time pass before I posted any more pics. It's been a rough few weeks correcting a small nutrient imbalance, but everything is back on track and she is flowering nicely. Gettin' quite frosty.

So here goes

WEEK 12 - 22nd DAY of FLOWERING - BLUE DREAM

- AND GUESS WHAT?!!?

I didn't notice until a day or to ago but I believe I may have induced a mutation on the far back-right branch. I've read this can happen when one does a lot of defoliation of the lower branch when the plant has a highly developed root system and is over a certain height. Anyway, I found a perfect little spot to clone and from what I have read about this mutation, it can produce substantially higher yields (not more potent, just more).

Polyploid

Until Next Time.

The flowering lights really skew the color of the plant in the pictures, so I decided to take a few shots just as the lights kicked off. Better illustrates her beauty.

On a side note, I am starting to wonder if this actually is BD. If you've read my first post, then you know the story of the lone seed. Some part of me has a sneaking suspicion that this seed, (much as the cuckoo bird lays its eggs in the nest of other birds) is actually an errant ICE seed from '08. Who knows though...
I've been letting the temps dip from about 78F in the day, to about 58F at night. If she blues up as the strain claims to, I should have an answer.
Anyway,

WEEK 13 - 27th DAY of FLOWERING
