blue dream indoor grow journal

Hi guys, am starting a blue dream grow journal here. Excited to finally be under way. This is my first grow btw.

Got my plants last monday and transplanted from rockwell cubes to 1 gallon smart pots. They are under a 1000w MH light dimmed to 600w. Temp at plants is about 77 usually. Humidity is low, between 30-35%. Soil is happy frog. Using no nutrients right now. Just giving them a drop of superthrive with their watering which is once every four days.

Most plants are looking great and starting to have their next wave of growth on top, but a couple are having issues. Please take a look at these and see if you recognize anything I might do to help. Some of these may have been damaged through manhandling. Not sure exactly. I'm hoping three survive. One is probably lost though (last one, lol).



What do you think? Anything I can do to help these poor ladies? Thanks so much for your advice!

600 watts are too much lighting for the plants at the moment. Go gentle on them for the moment. I'm pulling up a chair for this. Hope it comes out well.

Think I'm ok on light based on the distance chart. Thanks though for the advice. I will double check my calculations. I don't think this is heat stress either based on the temp readings I'm getting.

These four plants are the outliers. The majority are pretty healthy. Anything you particularly see about these plants besides handling damage?

My plan is to prune all the bad/dying leaves tomorrow and try to clean them up as much as possible. I could isolate these and put them under my low wattage t5 lights too. Not sure it would help though. I think two or three were crippled a bit by plant damage and one or two were sort of sorry looking out of the gate as soon as I got them and put them in the soil.

T5 sounds good. It will probably take some time for roots to get over the shock.

I'm in on this one. Good advice above though. Little ones like that flourish under a nice fluorescent. They should bounce back nicely. A little more humidity would also help them along.

I have a question. Is low humidity necessarily a problem for teens? I am noticing the humidity tends to be between 20-35% and my research result is mixed on whether that is really bad or not. Wilted tips on the bad side, but less chance of mold and bugs and the possibility of more potent buds on the good side.

If your grow show is clean and properly ventilated, there is little worry for bugs and mold. I would rather have my little ones (especially those in recovery) in at least a 65% humidity environment. How much roots did these clones have before you repotted them? Another thing I see in your photos is the soil is not covering the rockwool cube. If I were you, I would get another 1/2 to 1 inch of soil over that cube.

Would have to agree. The sun is way more intense on seedlings than any lights made and seedlings do just fine in the great outdoors which are clearly smaller than your clones.

I would say over watered from the looks of ur pics get some more drainage in similar pot and gently knock off old dirt. Transplant and enjoy. That was one of my biggest problems and one of the most misdiagnosed problems here on riu IMO

Yeah, I did it like the clone guy did his. I'll add some soil. These clones were held for me almost two weeks after they were ready to sell cause I was out of town. In most cases the roots were hanging way down out of the cube.

most of the girls seem to be growing like crazy, I mean it's crazy. Those weak ones are even starting new growth except one which I think is a goner. I'll try to get some recent pictures up soon.

Have a few plants that are starting to look weird/sickly. See anything you can identify?

Two are drooping, two have yellow dried tips, and one I broke the stem and that guy is barely hanging on. Definitely not overwatering. Soil is dry from the meter and we are watering today.
