hey man...thanks...yea...I felt a little like I put myself between a rock and a hard place without knowing....novice mistake....they have been wicking water from day one actually....I monitor very closley...and it seems to be working very well. I have been warned about the risks of this as well though./...so I am being a little of a rebel and not listening to everyone's advice, and prolly not he best thing when there's so many people that are so experienced....but so far....seems to be ok

When you say they have been wicking ...how have they been doing that?
Leaving your plants in a tray of water is just asking for trouble bro.
They`ll probably start getting salts build up and you really don`t want that, hard to diagnose weather it`s a build up of salts or a defiecincy of some kind.
Be careful Tahoe.

ok...I hear ya...what I do is generally every other day place ~300ml in the tray...and it is generally gone in about 2-4 hours or less? they are never sitting in water for any extended time? I guess its just like I have done with other house plants and things, except I am a lot more careful with the olume, and it is measured only agaisnt the time to disappear....and the "feel" of the soil....moist but absolutely not wet to any extent? I am listening though...keep talking .....
