Anybody grow blueberries and know what a good soil to start new plants in.I'm thinking on goji berries too.And wonder if sulphur is a good way to create an acidic ph.
Thanks Nomo.preciate it.To start blueberries use 100% sphagnum peat moss and water with very mild nutes at a PH of 4.5. Sulfur or sulfuric acid works well for lowering PH. Ferrous sulfate and magnesium sulfate are also helpful to lower PH, and blueberries love iron and magnesium.
Note that soil doesn't adjust down to 4.5 very quickly via normal methods. The only instant method I have seen work is to make a mud solution and adjust the PH with liquid acid (sulfuric acid, auto store, be careful, strong acid, but completely safe/pure for the plants once dilluted), wait a few days re-adjusting PH daily, then drain/dry.
well look at that I got some information in a weed forum on growing blueberries.Maybe there is a god.You might have to check out a blueberry forum, this forum is for growing marijuana...
