Blueberry 600 wat / 430 watt grow

after major probs with freezing temperatures and sun bleaching causing to downgrade from 600 hps to my 430. finally almost harvest time

I was in a bit of a hurry when i posted the pics so heres a little more info

600 watt hps in a c 13 cabinet 7.5 square ft with mylar on the walls.
6 weeks into flowering i had to downgrade to a 430 hps due to sun bleach problems.
Strain is blueberry
3 are in dirt in one big 18 gal rubbermaid tub
1 hydro DWC in another 10 gal rubbermaid tub. no medium just a black foam thing stuffed in a netpot with ductape over it. 2 small dual air pumps with 4 airstones.
for nutrients in dirt for veg I used jacks classic 20 20 20 and for flower I used jacks classic 20 20 20 with a small amount of epsom salt and gardening magic with growtext calmag plus I alternated between these becuase i didnt have any of the jacks 10 30 20 for bloom. the gardening magic is for hydro and i didnt know how it would do in dirt.

for hydro nutrients for veg i an sensi grow and flower used gardening magic with growtext calmag plus and botannicare hydroplex, and h202 I wanted to use sensi bloom too but couldnt afford it. im happy with the gardening magic though I wonder if i would have had a better yield with an sensi bloom.

The first 4 pics are at 14 days of flower. the next few are 30 days then 55 days and 61 days. the closeup bud shots are at 61 days. I have 3 blueberry plants in dirt on the left and 1 blueberry in hydro on the right. Everything was goin great at first but temps started getting really low and it started stressing them out.. they started yellowing really bad and growth was stunted. after doing everything i could i finally got the temps raised but they were about 40 days into flowering by that time. it was so cold i had to drop my 600 down super close to keep them warm. They seemed to love it at first but towards the end of flowering the tips of the buds started getting sun bleached. i had to raise the light and snip off all the tips but it jut got worse. I swapped out the 600 hps and put in a 430 and things are good now. My yield suffered hard but im amazed they did anything at all. I was almost expecting them to die some nights the temp dropped to freezing temps. even in the cabinet with a 600 watt hps was still only like 40 to 50 degrees f in there. The sun bleaching was a bit of a shock because it didn't show up until the last 2 weeks of flowering. its a c13 mills pride cabinet i think 7.5 sq feet so i know a 600 is overkill but ive had 3 crops with the 600 in that cabinet and never once had sun bleaching..i set this cabinet up back in the old overgrow days.. oh how i miss overgrow.. The dirts were ahead of the hydro the entire time but its not a fair comparison because theres 3 dirts and one big hydro. but the last week or so the hydro have really swelled up i think in the end the buds are gonna be twice as fat as the dirts. this is my firs successful dwc attempt after a few failed. I need to find a good nutrient line. ive had major problems keeping them green during flowering. I think a lot of that is due to the temperature problems though.

heres a few more pics. I dunno if i should flush or not. the dirt definatly looks close but the hydro looks pretty premature still.

so heres an update.. My dirt has been flushing for about a week now and on day 2 of flushing the hydro. Thinking of chopping the dirt down sometime next week and the hydro possibly the week after. my seedlings are getting bigger. gonna be awhile before they produce anything but heres a pic of them. then a couple pics of my next grow. I guess this is going to be my first actual grow journal where you guys will get to see the start to finish. well of flowering at least ...will be switching to flower within the next week. I was originally running a 600 in a 2.5 x 2 x 6 c 13 cabinet with about 7 maybe 7.5 sq feet. i had to downgrade to my 430 son agro due to sunbleaching. i am now upgrading to a 4x4 room with a 1000 watter on 5 blueberries. I have 2 10 gallond tubs that have 2 in each and 1 10 gal tub with 1 bigger plant. going to be a dirt grow in a pro mix. for nutrients im undecided. im thinking of using jacks dynamic duo and some extra epsom salt if they need it. Pretty much just waiting to obtain materials to build my room and have yet to harvest the above grow.

i harvested the dirt today. hydro is still flushing and will be harvested in a few days.. heres a few shots of the dirt harvest. im hoping for around 4 ozs

well the dirt side weighed in at 3.5 ozs dry and manicured. hydro came down today. looks about double. crappy camera cant find the cord to charge my good camera. the first pic has a tape measure ran out was about 2.5 ft wide

a few pics of my current mother plant.. took some damage and some root damage because it didnt get watered for a few days. i think it needs repotted too but i hit it with some micro tea today to try to repair the root damage it took from drying out

the same mama last week before it got a missed watering and took some damage.

you can tell she was healthier before she took damage though shes a little bushier now. i think shes rootbound and going to repot tomorrow.
