BOG's take on Double Potting. Your thoughts?

I am currently in the phase of my grow where I am researching the genetics of my seeds and who created them. I learned about BOG only after being gifted 15 of the sweetest, freshest Sour Bubble seeds. I wanted to known exactly how this plant grows and to make sure it suits my grow enviroment. I have been reading his methods and understanding why this strain is so popular. Then I came across this statement and was completed confused,

"The plants spend about 5 weeks in vegetative stage. When moved to the flowering room they are rooted into large pots and usually about 2 feet tall (this varies with your set up, head room, genetics, etc.) At this point I double pot my plants. This means placing the 2 to 4 gallon pot it is rooted in, into another larger pot of soil. The plant will root through holes in the bottom of the original pot. Have 4 inch holes minimum and wet the soil mix in both pots thoroughly. The continues rooting will extend growth and increase yields due to added health and vigor. "

Everywhere I have read suggests not to do this but have mixxed reviews. Your thoughts?

I'm still on my first grow and haven't tried this but I'd guess it's a way to add space for more root growth while avoiding the stress of regular repotting.

That's what I thought too. Just adds more soil underneath. He didn't seem to concerned with root tangle or one starving one out. Wish that guy was still around. I'd love to pick his brain about my Sour Bubble seeds.
