Its true, alcohol and salt clean your glass bongs and pipes fast, hot water takes forever, I used to do it that way but I used a microwave.

Lol one would have to be a little crazy I would think to choose to use boiling water over alcohol and salt
It not only takes a hell of a lot longer, it doesn't clean the bong nearly as good as the alcohol and salt combo
I could take a 10 year old glass bong that has never been cleaned and make it look and smell brand new w/ 90% alcohol and kosher salt (kosher salt is bigger than iodized salt, more surface area is what you want)

Grunge off too expensive, go to home depot and get a gallon of Simple green for less than 10 bucks last I check. I have all clear acrylic bongs and when I clean I normally just spray it full strength in there and swish and if I have gone a long time I may need to rinse longer but will rinse clean and organic. Fuck all the alcohol and other home remedies. Even Gojo hand cleaner works but is hard to rinse smell out. Simple green from my 30 years of bong smoking is the easiest cheapest cleaner that works awsome. Even heavily resonated shit can just be soaked a bit and it does not eat seals up or anything or dry rubber out like alcohol on plastic shit.

Deep green in color and with an aroma of fresh sassafras, Simple Green is a popular household cleaner marketed to environmentally concerned consumers. It bills itself as nontoxic, the ''safer alternative" to other cleaners.
But one of Simple Green's key ingredients is the same toxic solvent that can be found in traditional all-purpose cleaners such as Formula 409 and Windex, a fact that consumers cannot discern from the products' labels.

I would rather not make cleaning the bong an event haha. Take 10 minutes out of your life and use 90% isopropyl alcohol and salt to clean your bong. You will be very mad at yourself for that long write up and for even wasting your time boiling water to clean the bong out. Seriously dude, get the isopropyl and salt, you will thank me later.
thank you... i tried this approach last night and it does work a lot quicker...

grundge off is 10 dollars LOL

FYI, Alcohol and salt stains your glass, makes it looks foggy, at least with my experience, i use it as a LAST resort, spend the 10 dollars and get some good shit

It will only get foggy if you don't properly rinse it out at the end. I would rather pay 5 dollars for twice the amount of cleaning product
