Being root bound is the least of his worries. The plant appears to be far along in the flowering phase and may be too late to change to vegetative growth. What photoperiod is it on? Looks cute right now though..

Awesome tip on trimmin the top and bottoms equally, I forgot about that one.
Well, the photoperiod is not fixed, as it is an auto. This plant was mostly cut down and not watered for 3 months and ended up like this. so i thought if it could reflower, it should make a good bonsai.

I think what you need is permanent vegetative state, but with an auto.....

True, it doesnt veg...but this girl doesnt follow the rules.it refloweres(buds on now are 3rd gen regrowth) and has been regrowing for about 6 months now.
