Botanicare Ebb & Flow Fiitting Kit Question

I have a question. Im getting ready to start a grow and am putting together and ebb and flow setup. I have
3x3 Botanicare Tray Table
70 Gallon Botanicare Reservoir
and the Ebb & Flow 3/4" Fitting Kit

My question is this, for those of you who have set up one of these systems, how big of a hole am I supposed to drill for the flood and drain fittings? Like stated, they are the 3/4" fittings

Websites say 1-3/8"
One hydro shop told me 3/4"
one hydro shop said I can use a hole anywhere from 1/2" to 1-1/2" due to the nozzle being tightened around the hole.

How big am I actually supposed to make these 2 holes?

I have alot of knowledge on growing(based on reading) Its just certain smaller things that I dont understand and I'd rather understand them Before hand! I heard that there was no such thing as a dumb question. If no1 asked them no1 would know anything. But I appreciate the fact that you decided to come into both of my threads and response without ANY answers what so ever. That was not what I thought questions were meant for.

I dotn think he meant it to be a dick...but hes got a point..both Q's you asked could have easily been answered by reading the label (nutes) and planning out exzactly what you needed before you went out and bought everything and made a build plan ( your tub). Oh well shit happens and you get antsy. Next time make a game plan :)

common sense would tell you if you had a 3/4" fitting than a 1 1/2 hole is not gonna work so well. If its 3/4" than you need a hole 3/4" inches will fit...make it a lil bit smaller so its tight..use silicone to seal it. No pics so i cant say for sure

You might be right but when an "adult" asks elementary questions without even the slightest knowledge of what the hell he is asking it looks like you just want us to build your grow and then manage it. Do yourself a favor do some research and then ask questions, just asking willy nilly gets old. I bet I could go to the your nute website and find out how to properly mix them within 10 min if not there on here. You say you have knowledge well asking questions like that proves you do not even know what you are about to start your grow with. Dude I want to help but you HAVE to meet us half way.

How many people actually have good results with the formula on the back of GH nutes? Plenty dont use the manufactures info because it isn't tailored for cannabis.
Sparkafire if this is such an ignorant question care to answer it for me? You left 2 pretty long responses while one answer would have been a much less "waste of time".
I asked because all of the info Im getting on this particular question is different! You always have the ability to hit the ignore button. You dont HAVE to read my threads if it makes you hate these type of questions so much. Dont mean to sound like a dick but it is what it is as the saying goes. Appreciate the help though. I'll continue doing that reading that I've gotten a plethora of totally different answers from.

What answers???
lol
I never said I know it all. I said I had a question. I didnt say lets argue about how to find the answers. I can honestly say maybe the nute question could have been read upon, but this question I have yet to find a definite answer! So please tell me, who gave me that answer that you speak of. The only person who gave somewhat of an answer was you and it was not from experience it was just a guess which I think is an incorrect one. the fitting is 3/4" fitting but I believe thats not for the piece but for a certain part of the piece. I appreciate your will to try and help as well. Thankyou!

Oh but it really is. Don't think for a second that all of these companies selling nutes and boosters think that we (weed growers) are their minority consumers. They all know exactly what the end user is growing and have schedules to compliment OUR crops.

It just dawned on me that people like you breed stupidity on the boards. No one with any true knowledge would really take the time to "walk" you though your grow ( even if they tried you would question them anyway) BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER YOURSELF so you get EVERY stoned MF that has some "dank" growing in his mothers panty drawer giving you jacked up info that confuses the fuck out of you even more making you even more stupid than when you first asked your "I heard pee is good for plants is that true?" question. Then you have "You" only its dillhole1234 and he reads your pee thread 6 months later and then HE starts in with the fucked up questions. Its a cornucopia of retards!!

You said it, people giving you jacked info and you still have to research it anyway but this time you have Dan Dan The Hydrostore man whispering in your ear "no man my way is better listen to me" next thing you know your peeing on your plants and dusting them with glass to keep the bugs away.

Research it man Hydro is not easy know at least know what you plan to do and then you will be smart enough to figure out who knows WTF and who use ground glass to kill bugs.

For drilling the hole , Measure the diameter of the fitting. The part with the threads with a rubber gasket. This is the part that needs to go thru the plastic tray. You will want to drill the hole slightly larger. I'm gonna say 1 3/8" . You can buy a SPADE bit at any hardware store.About $5 and will fit into a drill motor. Tighten by hand. no need for silicone. Use a 1/2" fitting and hose on the FILL side , and 3/4" on the DRAIN side. Do this and you will never overflow.

Actual information. Thank you so much sir, I appreciate it. Someone who seems to have actually put these together instead of spewing out information that they are guessing or just pure ignorance. Now I can finish putting my setup together and get to what's most important. +rep to you, although mine probably wont make an impact lol

how about you use common sense? this question has to be a joke. When you were a kid I bet you had real trouble with them shape things, trying to put the square through the circle....lol. How do you even go through life having to make any kind of everyday decisions?

The hole is definitely 1 3/8" for this kit. A Fostner bit will give you a very clean hole.

Y'all keep responding on a question asked in 2011!
I think by now he know how big a hole he has to drill.

Besides that, he did ask a stupid question (yes, there are stupid questions)
He says that he has a ebb&flow fitting kit.
And then he asks how big a hole he has to drill to fit it...
That is a stupid question, or he is just a lazy fuck to measure it himself.
It is like "I bought a truck. How big has to be my garage door so I can drive it inside?"
