botanicare turbogarden ebb & flo

i ended up chopping down the tree i was sampling from. it was about 3 weeks from maturity but i still have 31g dry. very clear trichs and airy but DAAAANK. i liked the weight and quality i got off the immature plant. i still have my other baby.... my prefered one. she has been the fattest and i tke special care with her. i think harvest weight will be 2-3oz

Okay, I understand I'm necromancing this thread but I picked up a used turbogarden. It appears the rez is not as accessible as it first seems. How do you do a rez change in the middle of flowering? Do you use a second pump to drain it or what?

it depends on your setup and the location of your grow op. i'm doing a closet grow in a carpeted room. i use 3 gallon grow containers for mobility. when it comes time for a water change i take out each plant and set them aside OFF the carpet. i remove the lid and start dipping a bucket into the res water. i lighten the tub enough to slide it to the bathroom and i dump the rest of the water into the tub. while there i am sure to take a rag and wipe all surfaces to remove any build up. then i return the turbogarden to my grow tent and fill with water and nutes.

another solution would be applicable if your growing in a basement or place where you can readily drain water. if this is the situation i would make a small modification to the turbogarden itself. i would add a valve to the bottom and position the reservoir over a drain and allow gravity to do all the work.

I'm using a grow tent and I don't have easy access to a drain. With my current setup, the rez is only a 18gal rubbermaid so when it is partially full, I am able to carry it to the tub or outside on the deck and dump it. I think I will consider putting a tee-valve on the fill hose and when it is time to drain, just switch to a longer hose to drain into buckets.
