Botanicare's Reccomended Doses Are A Joke!

I'm about ready to flip over, Widows have been vegging for over a month in my room, and I was looking at their "reccomended feeding chart" on the bottle today, and it wants 15 ML per gallon of grow as well as 15 ML per gallon of blooming.

I know Widows aren't exactly the hungriest of women, but after I add my Hygrozeim 8 ML per 4 liter, Liquid Karma 10 ML per 4 liter, and calcium 2 ML per 4 liter...my PPM is already at 400-450 leaving me with about 200 PPM to play around with. Their cocktail calls for 30 ML of the grow\bloom per gallon... I'm able to give them about 2 ML per gallon! That's crazy they print such high amounts for reccomended cocktail.

I pushed them to 650 about 8 days ago, and they burnt a tiny bit... no claw at all really, just about 2-3MM of bright yellow on the sides of some of their leaves. I backed off for a bit and are just now getting back to 650 PPM. Have you guys found the Widow takes a little amount of food?

My plants are on the ground instead of an irrigation system this time so it's hard to take PPM to find out exactly how much they are feeding... do you guys have a way to do so without a return irrigation system set up?

One thing for sure, I feel bad for those who add the reccomended dose by Botanicare... the plants will burn to high hell!!!

:wall:Dude, you did not read the back of the bottle properly!!! It tells you to use the ProGro for vegging and the ProBloom for flower! Just because it tells you what related product to use at a different time does not mean they are telling you to use it during flower!!!
Botanicare is awesome, just READ it, bro!!!

Yes, I use the PureBlend series, and have for a number of years. Not sure what bottle you are reading bro, but each and every bottle they produce, as well as feeding charts calls for flowering nutes *and* vegging nutes during a transition period. At the risk of sounding like a prick you should do a bit more research, practice, and most importantly, humility prior to talking in a condescending tone to someone who runs an operation roughly 120 times bigger than yours (I was in your thread)

Taken from the Botanicare Bottle

*Seedlings 7 ml\4 liters Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4
*Mid Sized Veg 15 ml\4 liters Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4
*Mature Veg 30ML\4L Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4
**TRANSITION PHASE* 15 ML PURE BLEND GROW 3-2-4 AND 15 ML PURE BLEND PRO BLOOM 2-3-5 PER GALLON

Read the label, bro.

They go all the way up to 45 ML per liter of Bloom during aggresive fruiting. My point is that I'm using about 2-2.5 ML per gallon and I've been vegging for over a month....

Not sure what information (or bottles) you think you are reading what accuracy, but every single one is the same so I assure you that you have become confused somewhere?

Figured it out, and I'm at least 1/2 right. You are reading the label for the progro, on the probloom it sasys nothing of the sort. I tried to take a pic to show you and it didnt come out. So, I apologize, however, I did think you were looking @ pro bloom, not progrow! Also, I use progro for my 2 week veg, then clearex, then go to bloom, and clearex every 2 weeks. Do you see a prob with that, I'm asking 'cause you said you been using 'em for years. Thanks

I use both the Bloom and Grow for the first week or week and a half of flowering. The plant is still using alot of nitrogen to veg, but also needs P and K to get started with flowering. I would say your best bet is to use both during transition as the Grow bottle says though you are correct, the Bloom bottle does not say that which is a bit weird.

While I never use the grow and bloom at the same time, their dosing is overkill. I'm usually @ 8 ml/gallon with R/O. Tap water doesn't let me use as much, and if I want to supplement with Liquid Karma or blackstrap, I have to cut back severely.

My advice would be to disregard the label and listen to your plants..... or an EC meter.

dude not sure what you are doing but botanicare is pretty good stuff. sorry if you are having a headache with it. what i do ( i am in hydro) is mix all the stuff together and use it as i need it. it works for me. I don't use veg and bloom at the same time. you can use sweet to help you witht the transition phase. mix all this stuff together for flower and call me in the morning

126ml Cal-Mag Plus... for reverse osmosis water
150ml Sweet
180ml Liquid Karma
540mlL Pure Bend Pro Bloom

Yeah I always supplement with Karma and I use a Calcium supplement every other watering, so yeah it makes me cut back alot with the regular nutes. I'm at 610 PPM right now, about 6-7 of the 70 are showing signs of slight burn, the others seem to be fine. I think they are fine at 620 for a bit... I'll work them up slowly and max out around 1000 or 1050 in week five of flower.

To those saying they are sorry the nutes are giving me a head ache, it's not really that at all I'm just saying it's odd that they reccomend about 4-5 times the amount that most plants can handle without burn - kinda weird...that's all.

I listen to the plants, not the label... as the labels tend to be inflated for the company's benefit to sell more product and such.

I gotta tell you, my only complaint with my grow (aside from the bugs that NO ONE will give me help with!!), is that the plants are honestly growing too much! I had planned on maybe getting to 16", yeah, right!, my biggest is over 21" tall& over 2' in diameter. I use bottled water (I already have a free supply of it), and use the reccomended dosage, except I reckon I didn't care too much for their reccomendation on transistions (that must be why I blocked it out), so instead of mixing the two together, I did like I said I did. I'm putting up new pics on my journal, and you gotta admit, it seems to be going damn good.
Again, I do apologize for the confusion!

If you want to be growing in soil you need to get used to bugs; I'd guess gnats. You should flush the plants really well and collect the runoff in a big bowl. Fungus gnats do this thing where they skip around on the surface of the water until they drown..... serious power strokes.

ive been crossed a cupple times by the labels and almost lost my whole run.. but botanicares lables arejust the min of what you can use..we boost like a mafuka and get a pound per light of the tastyiest bud ever! sweet karma gh 3 part and some others!!!!!:hump:

i do use full doeses though unless i introduce the nutes in veg then i half it the first time if u use liquid karma DO NOT USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IT WILL KILL OFF ANY BENIFICIAL BACTERIA IN THE LIQUID KARMA for my regimen i use
first couple weeks of veg i use hydro organics RAINBOW MIX works great i use half dose mixed in sunshine no. 4 with 30% perilite added nothing else
yea i know i should be using more earthworm castings and guano but ive never seen anything negative from not using guano vermiculite or worm castings

VEG

10ml of liquid karma
25 ml of pbp grow
5 ml cal mag plus
5 ml silica blast every other feed so food with silica-water-food-water-food with silica
15 ml earth juice microblast every two weeks
1 drop of superthrive
5ml aqua shield applied once when cuttings and every thirty to ninety days
10 ml of sweet raw sweet citrus or sweet berries
IN THAT ORDER then ph down if needed

for bloom i use the regimine they suggest on their chart on the back of the pbp grow bottle i do not use the bloom only the bloom soil and the suppliments from the chart in the botanicare book i got from the grow store
i do not use the aquashield like they suggest bc im doing soiless culture not hydro or soil basically hydro but no drip system i do all the work and my ph goes in at 5.87 when i get it down and comes out at an astonishing 5.99 woot

BLOOM

10 ml of liquid karma
25 ml pbp bloom soil
5 ml cal mag plus till week 5-6 then no more unless needed
5 ml hydroplex
5 ml silica blast same as veg
15 ml of earth juice microblast every two weeks
25 ml of sweet raw sweet citrus or sweet original berries depending on strain genetics
5 ml aquashield every thirty or ninety days after first applied as a cutting
in this order
THEN PH DOWN IF NEE
DED

BTW I USE LIQUID KARMA WITH EVERY WATERING AND SWEET
FOLIAR FEED THE LK ONCE A WEEK FOR BEST RESULTS
THERE YOU GO GOOD LUCK "REMEBER TO FLUSH EVERY 21 DAYS EVEN THOUGH ITS MOSTLY ORGANIC DOES NOT MEAN U DONT NEED TO FLUSH THE BAD SHIT YOUR PLANT SPITS OUT WHILE FEEDING"<---------IMPORTANTi know this much from my studies so far but should i use more powerful doses???????? no def. no problems no burns??

I use PBP Grow and PBP Bloom indoors at full strength. Only my purple kush has any trouble keeping up with it. I do the 50/50 transition for two weeks. It seems that I could use a flush at 30days into flower though.

You guys are all idiots the transition phase is the first few Weeks of flower under 12/12 light sched if your still begging but have been for 5 week use the mature veg chart maybe add a extra ml or to but don't add transition nutes until your in 12/12 for the first 4 Weeks are called TRANSITION

What's the diff between the soil/coco and hydro versions though? Like if you were using a pro-mix type soiless medium does it matter which one?
